Hey Rob,

We have either been using F brushes or 767's with purple/red springs. Seems to be the best.

I am sure this has been cover many times but my search ends up being to big to sort through. Thanks agin guys.
Generally most motors should pull between 6 and 12 amps. I dont like the ones above 10 amps as they get harder to gear and also get hotter and fall off in the race. I like to get mine around 8-9 amps. Usually when someone rebuilds a motor and they get low amp draw its because either their lathe is cutting with a taper, brush hoods have been knocked out of alignment, brushes are not very good. Usually one of those 3 is the culprit in that order.

Thanks EA, I went back and looked and i had not chnged the brushes! I have been out of electric for a while so i trued everything the other night and lost track o what i had new brushes in i guess. Now its pulling about 9.3 at 2 amps. I also figured out The ice does not like anything to pul over 10 amps, it shuts down.

Hey EA,

I've got a question about reassembling a CO27. I took everything apart to true the com and like a genius wasn't paying attention to the order everything was in.

Now I have a silver washer, a gold (brass?) washer and what looks like a fiberglass washer. I'm pretty sure the silver washer goes on the pinion end of the armature and the other two go on the com end but I'm not sure which goes first.

If you or anyone else can help me with the reassembly order I would really appreciate it. It's my understanding that some motors will have more/less/different washers and shims. Maybe if you can tell me the general rule of thumb on where these items go that would be helpful.

Thanks for your time.

Ok, so silver on the pinion end then fiber first, brass second on the com end.

I think I've got it now. Thanks, Jolly
