Red face RE: THANKS AGAIN!

Eric,

I tried using purple spring on the pos. side and cut the trailing edge and it helped bring the temp down at the same gearing, but the speed came down with it! I talked with Charlie Albrite, I know I'm spelling the name wrong! Anyway he suggested I use quasar brushes and purple springs all the way around. The speed came back with lower temps but on the 2nd run it slowed down again. The brushes weren't getting too hot but one of the brushes was only contacting half the way across. So that might have been the reason for the loss of power!
I'm thinking of going back to the "F" brushes with purple /red and just go with a smaller pinion. Their handing out the spec motors tomorrow so we start all over again. It's tough tuning these motors but there are a couple of guys that have something up their sleeves because they are turning some fast laps and they look very fast in the straight away.
So what should I do? Go back to the "F"s or use the quasars?
Decisions, decisions!!
Thanks!
Max

Hey Max,

1st thing to do is line the brushes up like I do....Its in the newest Xtreme RC magazine. That will get the hoods perfect for F brushes. Once you do that keep the brushes full face with a 2mm hole in the face and purple/red spring. See how that does first. Also make sure to break in the brushes with Zubak's speed juice if you have some and then spray the motor out good before running.

If it still gets hot then take just a little off the traliing edge of each brush and go up 1 tooth on the gear. If that doesnt work then try quasars. The quasars will not burn up but they also offer less rip I think. Charlie is pretty fast at that track so he can help as well...He's an EAM Driver and would be more than willing to help.

Jody Miller breaks EA Motorsports into victory lane at the KC Motorsports dominated Open 19 turn oval class at the R/C Complex in Easley, SC. EA Motorsports Handwound Fuji based 19-turn was on fire in the main.

Many people say motor doesn't make that much of a difference, but this week it was All In the Can baby!

Thanks to EA for the Killer RIP
