I just got to say a BIG THANKS to EA for the motor and batteries. I ran Touring Oval last night with my new Losi ride and quailified 3rd in the A-main against the 4-cell 19 turn cars. I was on EA batteries and an EA tuned Ultrabird 19 turn (Snowbirds practicing). Last week I was able to run a 60 4:03 with a big brush, quad mag, 19 turn and this week I ran the exact same thing with an EA tuned handout Ultrabird from Cleveland. Pole run this week was a 60 4:00 and I was able to run a 60 4:03. The car was much better than last week but man the motor and batteries ripped.

Just another account to how good EA motors and batteries really are. Keep up the great work bud............

same question for stock motors too
I gear all motors so that they top out about 3/4 of the way down the longest straight away. As long as its below 190ish then its ok. I havent found that going up or down 1 tooth will change motor temp. Gearing usually only affects motor temp if you are way over geared or way under geared. Running fans helps a lot if you put them facing the brush hoods or blowing inside the hoods. I ran a two fan setup like this on my Xray in Cleveland and both stock/19t motors were coming off right at 100 degrees for a 5 minute run.

For 12th scale I would cut every 2-3 runs.

EA

I'll try it but I have not been able to get away with it. Ususally after practice (assuming 2 rounds and a final) I'll get my 3 motors, cut them and get them all ready for the race, then just switch the motor after every run. I usually lose 2 or 3 tenths a lap on a second run without a fresh cut, sometimes more. If I also put a new set of 767's in (rather than a 2nd run set) I'll pick up another 2 or 3 tenths a lap. I frequently put in a new set for the final but I can't run new brushes in the rounds as I race on a budget.

This is why I'm looking forward to brushless racing, with all of the tire work and the tweaking and set up, 12th scale is a lot of work, reducing it can only be a good thing.

Thanks for the info.

Chris

EA, on behalf of the FSEARA series, I would like to thank you for the support this year. Your motors and batteries are always in the fast cars. Without the support from great people and companies like yours, our series would not have baan as sucessfull as it is. 25 years and counting....

BTW, BUtter had a double TQ and Win.. .Stock and 19t.....

Hey EA how are you taking .010" of the trailing edge on the brushes...is it a file or a tool?

Any brush slotter will work or a file. The one that Axxis racing has coming out that has been modified a little works awesome. Ive got a batch of them coming this week.

Congradulations to Team Butter for his DOMINATING performace at the last FL State series race for 2005. He TQ'd and won Stock and 19 turn class and was never contested.

He also wraped up the Stock State Championship and finished 2nd in 19 turn.
