Eric, did you talk to Scotty about if the Atlas will be legal at the Novak Race? My guess is no considering how few are available at this time, but it'd be cool anyway

Default 30 degree Monster...

Guys,
I am going to be running a huge offroad race in Indy next weekend. They are going to be handing out 30 degree Monsters for the hand out motors. I am currently running about four or five of Eric's monsters and they rip. Give me some pointers on what I need to do with the 30 degree motors to make them rip like EA's.
If you don't want to let everyone in the world know your secrets, please PM me.

30 degree monsters? Umm....explain to me how you advance the timing with two flat sides on the can....there is no way to rotate the endbell...

The only thing I can think is when the cans are made, they stamp the "u" shaped locator another 6 degress off from the original location???? Then they can just use the same endbell, it will just be advanced another 6 degrees.

Hey Smooth...Do you have a pic of the motor? The only Monster motors out here are both 24 degree's. One is bluish and the other is chrome with a purple endbell.

Either way just use the normal setup on them. IF they are 30 degree motors then you may want to take a little off the edges of the brush for offroad to increase the torque and reduce rpm.

EA,
No I haven't gotten them yet. This is what I was told when I called about sign ups last week. I will find out more on Monday and let you know. If they end up being 24's what brush spring combo would you recomend for them and how much should I take off the leading and trailing edges to start???
I had never heard of a 30 degree monster that's why I came to you guys. I figured if anyone has heard of them, you all have.
I have been taking about .010 off the leading and trailing edges of the other monster's I have from you and they have real good torque.

I would do the same thing you have been doing.....That works great for offroad.

I would use the F brush with red springs.

What's the best starting set-up for 12th scale? C2's, Monsters and Roar Stocks.

Thanks
