Harsh Guy, have you tried just running it on a 2cell pack? Directly connected?
Thats what i always do to break my motors in, as i don't have any specific motor break in electronics, seems to work well in seating the brushes.

Regards
Ed

That would *proabaly* work, but I guess the reason I'm asking is all the other motors (and all my 19 turns) break on fine on the GFX, so I don't know if there may be something wrong with the motor, or maybe it's just "faster than hell" ;-)

EA ...should I try running it and see what happens (in practice 1st of course!!).

Got my Fuji 19T today EA. Beautiful work as always, thank you. I'm looking forward to getting it on the track to see how it performs.

I'm new to 19T, and have never run anything other than stock. Is there a FAQ somewhere on timing, and when to change it (if at all), especially when it comes to sedan racing?

Glad you like....Let me know how it runs for you.

Generally the more timing you run the more RPM and LESS torque you have. I usually run around 24-28 degrees on a smaller track and 30-36 on a large flowing track.

24 degs on Sedan works nice.......... timing just adds amp draw, heat and other bad things as EA will tell you. It just depends. I like standard timing.

In my opinion...... setting a motor up for torque and bottom end is better than an RPM motor. You can gear up for RPM and overall you have a better powerband for stock and 19T.

You can also limit the amp draw, depending on the application for touring car and gear up. Motor runs cooler, draws less, finishes a lot better too.

Just my thoughts.

EA,
Sorry man I killed your good work....The Roar Stock got cooked but only after many ratios tried none could keep it cool....It was a hot day, a new car and didn;t have much time for practice as I was still putting everything in it....Man I only receaved it Friday morning....I will say it was fast...in fact I was able to push past most of the field pretty easily just couldn't find that sweet spot in the final ratio...if you have any suggestions on final ratios please let me know...Also if you would be so kind to sent me a new Roar and Monster with your extra special touch and some Decals just add them to the invoice that I still haven't received...HINT HINT...I want to let everyone who is thinking of getting one of these motors .....stop thinking EA tunes a mean motor....
Thanks for the awsome horsepower...sorry I cooked it.

E & Shook........

I got my ROAR stock on the rug for the first time on Friday.

Like Shook I had some heat problems, but I think I have have the gearing sorted out. - it isn't heating up as fast anyway

30p / 124s / 1.77 igr / 59.5mm td

I also found the motor to be sick fast with a about a 1" (25.3 mm) rollout. And I do mean SICK!!!!! .

Happy as a clam with the motor, but Shook's story has me wondering about the future.
