For those seriously considering dead shorting you new packs- the reason many of us use solder to connect the + and - terminals of our packs is that the solder will overheat and melt, opening the connection between the terminals before the packs overheats and damages or destroys one or more cells. Of course the best idea is to create the short while the packs is still in the tray so you don't have to worry about voltage regeneration after being removed from the tray, but it's a good habit to do it anyway.

Also, (Butter and EA may want to comment on this), I have found you should expect the pack to feel a little flat on the first charge after being DS for a week or two. Normally the first run always feel a little flat but it seems to be more pronounced when DSing them. If you have ever cycled your packs you will know that the second cycle of the day is almost always better than the first, so I guess that confims my findings on the track...

BigDog- You are right on....the first 1 or 2 cycles will be a little flat. Also, the solder is a GREAT way to help prevent plarity reversal for the reasons you described...

grn/red combo on the monster with vertical slot (my preference)

over here(uk) there still mixed feelings by some users but selling 6 times as many F-lines then putnams though

there`s only a few key drivers i need to sort out still

me thinks they are better then putnams but because these drivers have been using putnams for a long time , it`s a bit hard to get them off it (habit more then anything)

I ran with F-lines in a monster stock last night at macc track, had a fantastic A-main, three car freight train going for 3 or so minutes with myself in the middle. Myself and first started to pull away a little bit so i had some breathing room and could push a bit, my car was a bit quicker but didnt have chance to make a clean pass and then caught a corner slightly too tight at 4 minutes which spelt the end of my race as i dropped loads of time because of it, probably half a lap (laps are low 11 seconds). Gotta rebuild the front of my barracuda now because the spool is so hard on it. Next friday though if i can go ill be back

I'll be there, see you tomorrow. Just but new brushes and given the comm a clean on my ROAR. I'm gonna try the slotted at some point during the day (I have the full face in at the moment).

Had a interesting thought earlier though, Has any one tried running different combos of slot/holes/full face in there motors? ie slot on one side, full face on the other? Just wonder what the effect would be

ALso Colin notice you say Red/Purple for the F-lines in the ROAR now, is that for the slotted brushes?
I've been running Red/red with the full face in.

Anyway, catchya tomorrow matt.

Later
Ed
