Yes the cooling fans do seem to help some. Im not a fan of clip on heatsinks. I would rather get one moutned to the car somewhere and try to get it blowing directly on the motor. Also someone on big jims web site is selling a petzier device that works very very well. It will take the motor down 60 degrees from what ever the outside temp allt he way down to the core. Take it off right before your race and go fly. Really seems to work well.

Cool (no pun intended)...thanks

One more question then I'll leave you alone...what brushes do you recommend for the monster stock, and where can I get them. I've been using 4499s, but my supply is running low, and my source for them in bulk is no longer available...

Thanks..Mark

Im using the 4505 Crosscut 99 plus brush in them right now. I am going to work on some stuff with 767's this weekend. I have plenty of 4504's and 4505's if you need some of those. The 4499's are on backorder right now and have been for a few weeks.

EAMotorsports - How do you break-in your 4505's? Whenever I've tried them in the past they have taken ages to break-in properly and kill the comm in the process(usually require a re-skim). How are the 4504 brushes? Also how does the roar stock compare to the monster?

Thanks for the info.

Fatdoggy....I have found that the face of the brush on some of the 4505's isnt quit straight....So it only wears on part of the brush. I have been just barely hitting them on a serrator and getting the face good and straight (top to bottom) and then breaking them in for 300 seconds and checking them. They have been really really good like this. But the key is to get the face straight.

The new ROAR Binary stock seems to be really good so far. Ive done no track testing yet but on the dyno (although we dont race the dyno's!) they appear to be better than the Monsters.

EA-the motors you tuned for me at nats are still running strong. If the ROAR stocks get here by Tuesday- I will run mine back to back with a fast Monster stock and give everyone feedback. TUesday nights a practice night and its not uncommon for us to run 150 laps or more that night!! I'll get the feedback from the other three guys who are buying the Monsters and ROAR Stocks too.

Somthing crazy like ~~~67 power, 22k at 3 sec and .93 torque on Mo's dyno. I dont really remember either except everytime I put a new set of brushes in the motr its fast again.

Thanks a lot-and my buddies thank you too.

Im sure the com is getting smaller on that motor. Im using the new version of the program now and also have the production version. I dont like the production version at all!! I think I am just going to use the Facts II program and just print the whole time base data and put it in the motor. That way it will show all the numbers and not just the max. What does everyone here think?

The ones I am building tonight are in the 64-66 watt range with a .294-.296 comm size. Pretty stout for a comm that big on my dyno

Like you said Eric, we don't race the dyno. I've run motors you tuned that we just "average" on your dyno and the darn thing FLIES on the track, so to me, 64-66 watts just lets us know the motor is in good condition. Plus, your dyno always reads lower than the numbers on the Trinity Pro motors so that tells you right there...
