What is the point of dead shorting.. I can understand putting the pack on a equlizer to get all the cells close in voltage.. but why deadshort? How does that make the battery better? I have an Integy 30 amd discharger and novak tray... so to dead short I let the discharger go full out on the lights... then connect a wire from pos to neg on the pack and that's it??? Sounds like a stupid question but I just want to be sure.... I guess that is what those wires on the pack are?
Do you have any maint plans I should follow for those packs... ???
Thanks...
Freddybnj_2004 - I have the exact same equipment that you described and I have been dead shorting my packs for quite a while now. I was picked up in May, and the packs that I recieved then are still coming off the charger at very high mah and voltage...Lots of punch!

What you want to do is after you run the battery let it cool for a few minutes, then stick it on the 30A discharge -> Transfer it to the Novak Tray and let it cycle on that twice(lights go out, punch it again) -> Then take it and solder the wire lead between the +/- and your set. The longer you leave it the more punch you get!

Try it out...You won't be dissapointed

Jon:

Hi,

I sent you the info you wanted.

I just want to thank Jon and the team for helping us out at C leveland. we had a great time. Jon was a great help with batteries. we hav never ran so well only to have a small suspension part break. Jason was up to 8th in the A main until the rocket rounds came around. then we had some bad luck. (not bad for his 4th year at Clevelnad). as for me staying up and working on his (and others) cars I really like doing it....... my hands are a little to shakey to wheel anything like my son.
we are both proud to be on the Surge team.

Thanks
