Um it isnt really torquey or really rpm based its more of a neutral motor in my opinion
In 17.5 we are running about a 3.75fdr with 1mm timing past the last timing mark. You get good speed and good rpm. We run the stock rotor. I have not ran it in my buggy yet so I cannot advise anything there but you can try the same gearing as your d3.5 check temps regularly. Um start with 1 notch less on timing until you get the gearing right.

1/8 scale ESC coming out any time soon? I love their stuff and would like to try it in an 1/8th scale setup.

Did anyone answer this question? I suspect I have that bearing going bad too and would like to replace it and/or the entire senor housing (Or upgrade to ceramic bearings if the motor doesn't already have them). Is there somewhere in the USA that sells those parts for ORCA motors?

I did a few tests with my ORCA TX 21.5 in my 1/12.
Great motor, a lot of rip in the infield and down the straight.
Motor settings, 3.50 mm past the timing marks.
Outside motor temped at 140 degrees, inside (as best as I temp it) 176. Mind you the ambient temperatures were around 20 degrees Celsius.

The orcas have a sweet spot, it took me forever to find it but once I found it. I could run the car HARD and it would come off at 130-140 17.5 sedan. Really every motor has this sweet spot.

They don't update their list that often. You'll find the approval on the ROAR forum though.
