I ran the new software with a VXX today in modified TC with a 5.5 and it was smooth and ran flawless. Seemed better than the previous couple versions but hard to tell because we were outdoors for the first time this year.

Thank you Team ORCA for powering my 1/12 for the TQ and win of the first stage of the All Japan Nationals. The motor had mad rip all throughout the day and posted the fastest lap which was 0.200 faster than the next guy.

There is different wiring from older Orca speed controls where the "A" and "C" wire are reversed. Now it lines up with other manufactures' wiring pattern.

See below...

Thats a new adjustment in the software being tested I am told. I have not put 4.1 on any of my speedo's to see if it is in there or its something newer. He is always testing new stuff for ORCA.

The new v4 software allows you to set which way you wish to have the ABC wires. You set it via the program box. Very nice feature.

It is available now on the ORCA site.

Thanks for the confirmation! I know that version 4.1 is the official ROAR version. They are just waiting on ROAR to give the final word before they put it up on the site for download.

i don't know much about those, but my 17.5 has nice low end. It comes with a 12.5 rotor that is stronger then the trinity 12.5HT. It is as fast as the D3.5 on the low end, but the speed of the D3.5 is much better.

What would be a good setup for VXX-Trinity D3.5 15.t?

Something fast but no too much on the limit.

What is a good starting point for timing on a 21.5 ORCA?

Running USGT class on carpet with the FDR at 3.75. First practice run i was tempting up at 175

Timing on motor was above the 10 mark.

Should I gear down or time down?

Thanks

What's your track like. I used to run mine with the timing 1.5-2mm past the lady mark with about a 3.72 fdr. That's on a 96X48 carpet track. Temps were anywhere from 140-160. Track had a few tight corners but pretty fast. I'd start at 3.88 with the timing at the last mark. Temp from there and adjust gear or timing. These motors can take some heat do don't be afraid to bump the timing past the last notch.
