Does the aluminum back plate offer any advantage other than cosmetic? How about the aluminum fan, is it more powerful?

Ive answered this question no less than a dozen times. The "list" you all are looking at is for the old approval system. Anything done on the new type of approval system is all located in the forum section. The motors have been legal since last year.

It will dissipate a little more heat as well. The fan is quieter and moves a little more air.

No scheduled ETA yet on them as far as I know. Im pretty sure the speedo is finished but they dont want to release it until the motor is finished up.

How far can I push the timing on this motor? Is there a limit?

I'm at 3.4~3.5 mm past the mark with my 21.5 motor running 2 cell 1/12.

I also picked up a D3.5 21.5 and wondering what timing settings that would match or come close to my ORCA 21.5.

Malin running the new Orca VX8C in her Xray XB8 Electric at the 2014 NEO.

Here's a few laps around the track in practice:

I've been running the motor timing around 3.5 past the mark and has mad power. So much so, everyone at my track was wondering if I was running boost. They didn't believe me until I showed them my speed control was set in "blinky mode".

21.5 motor has crazy crazy power for my 1/12.

BUT the standard strength rotor is stronger than a Trinity 12.5HT rotor. So keep that in mind when comparing.

I ran the new software with a VXX today in modified TC with a 5.5 and it was smooth and ran flawless. Seemed better than the previous couple versions but hard to tell because we were outdoors for the first time this year.

Thank you Team ORCA for powering my 1/12 for the TQ and win of the first stage of the All Japan Nationals. The motor had mad rip all throughout the day and posted the fastest lap which was 0.200 faster than the next guy.
