So I ran the new T.S.R. motor this last week. The motor I purchased was the "best" version, 17.5 in blinky. The motor resistance were super super low, as well as the rotors balanced with in 7 units per side on the rotors! I started out with the 12.5 1300 rotor, with 35 deg of timing. I gradually went up to 45 deg of timing. The motor was super fast almost too fast! However with the smaller rotor it was a bit more touchy on throttle than I was use to. However being the curious person I am I wanted to see what the larger rotor would do. So I started over with the 12.5mm 1400 rotor. It was smoother with the larger rotor, had more power than my previous motor, which was is a top notch motor. I ended up with 1400 rotor at 45 deg of timing and a 4.0 fdr. Wayne suggested that I try and go to a lower timing about 25 and go up a couple of teeth. So I shall try that. With all that being said this motor IS AMAZZZZZING! With my previous motor I would get about 1-5 8.0's. With this motor I was able to get about 15-20 8.0 with a fast lap of 7.9! In comparison from two weeks ago race to this last weeks race, I ran .1 faster across the board! I had some mechanical/driving failures each round or else it would have been ever faster, haha! Even with the broken castor block per round, i was still qualified about 1 full lap faster than the week before. This is running the exact same set up as the week before, on the same lay out. It is amazing with almost no fade, were talking about .1 slower after 6 minutes of running hard. That is incredible, to me anyways!

Wanted to update my previous post with 2 pieces of information...

1) Wayne had sent me a variety of rotors to test with... As I stated before, the fastest setup was with the small/weaker rotor. Well it turns out there was something lost in communication, as the "small" rotor I received was actually 12.5mm, just like the others. It did, however, have the weakest magnet. I wouldn't exactly call the rotor "weak", as it was in the mid-high 1300s on Wayne's meter... and was right around ~1400 on mine. Regardless, I wanted to update the post with the correct information.

2) With the above stated rotor at 35deg, the free rev amp draw @ 4.0v was 3.5A...

Default TSR 17.5

We put in the time for this race. Testing and tuning two weeks before the race, tons of gearing, and timing changes to get as much data as possible. Pete ran a Losi 22SCT with the MIP puck system, titanium turn buckles and a Team Scream 4600 90C Shorty Pack. The truck was very fast, kept up with all the Mod SC's on the track, but we were not done yet.

Thursday we played with more gearing changes and a rotor change and it was exactly what we were looking for. We were all set to just burn packs on Friday and get temps after 5,7, and full pack runs.

Friday we settled with 15 Deg of timing, 30T pinion, 76 tooth Spur, and the 12.5 3 line "high strength" rotor. Temp after 5 min 110 deg, 7 min 122 deg, full pack 138 deg with no fade at all!

Saturday quals went well, Pete made some mistakes in the first two quals, but was not worried in any way. The 3rd qual was one, he was shattering the TQ by 6 seconds until he made a mistake and it dropped him down to 2 seconds off the TQ. He picked it up and made one more mistake that cost him the TQ spot by .4 and sat 2nd overall.

The A Main was incredible! He battled with the leader for the first few laps and finally the leader went a bit wide in a corner. Pete ripped by and never looked back taking down the win by 6 seconds and a fast lap of 19.6. We still think this motor has more in it so we ordered some smaller spurs. I will post when we test again.

Pete also ran his stock SC in the Mod class and had the 3rd or 4th fastest lap in the A Main and finished 5th overall.

After skme more testing and suggestions from Wayne I have a motor that would probably rival a 13.5. I am running the new tsr 17.5 motor. I am running in the motor the 1430 rotor at 20 deg of timing and a 96/51. After 7 minutes of hard driving it came off at 110. It has more speed than I can handle! I am going to have actually turn down the punch on my speedo to make it more controllable. If I ran on a larger track I would gesr up however I run on a 60x36 track with medium-to high grip. This thing is amazing! I bet I could run down some d3.5 in 1/12 scale class with my blinky touring car.

Website was down for a bit today with some problems, but it's back up and running. I wanted to thank everyone that had purchased a motor from us in the past 2 weeks!

I went to the third race of the USVTA Nationals this weekend, they had three classes USVTA, USGT, and stock sedan. I ran stock sedan with the TSR motor and it suited me very well. I was running a 96 spur with a 52 pinion, and 2.0 IR, which puts me at a 3.69 FDR. This was at 35 deg of timing, with the 1430 rotor, the motor after racing HARD for 5 minutes plus 7-8 practice laps, so about 6 minutes of racing total came off at 130-140 deg. I ended up finishing up in 5th place in the A main of stock sedan. Lots of good racers there, unfortunately I forgot my nerves of steel at home :P!

We have all the rotors and 40 more motors that will be in tomorrow. If you were waiting to order because the site said out of stock on the rotors, you can do it now. They will be here tomorrow

Great results for the Team Scream 17.5 motors at NORCAR's Grand Finale!

3 out of the top 5 in 17.5 TC were Team Scream Motors!

2 were in the 1/12 17.5 main, with one a second place finish!
