Thanks idbdoug for the heads up I spoke to Jeff today and this is what he said about the sensor boards
Since we discontinued the Type R motors, the current sensor board fits all of the other Types, i.e. Type M, RS and T.

Checking to see what the main differences between the discontinued R and Replacement RS stators are? I have two R motors and just ordered the RS stators for the 17.5.

Just want to send a thanks to the Fantom Racing support team. I had purchased a new Spec-R lipo and on the first run day there was an issue with the battery where it would no longer balance. They replaced the battery quickly.

Thanks - great stuff.

are these motors a low timing/high gearing type motor or vice versa. it seems like i cant get more speed out of this thing and spending money on it i'm not too happy with the product.

Do you mean discharging, or charging? I do not quite understand the question.

17.5 TC...i'm just asking a general question for these motors. not an actual FDR/timing combo

Well it depends which type you get. The type m is what you want for touring car. Not sure if it helps but the gearing timing i run is 3.97@49 degrees, on the can( this will read +-2 degrees on the motolyser). I believe the type m is middle of the line if you will, less torque than the type t and more than the type rs. The type t will have less rpm than the m and the m will have less than the type rs.

Usually they include a document with a whole list of storage, discharging and charging information.

They like 46-48 degrees of actual timing. Adjust gear ratio to suit track and your driving style. I ended up at 3.9 at 48 degrees with the m and 4.05 at 49 degrees with the rs. Both in 17.5 sedan. Both had mid 1500 12.5 rotors from Ea Motorsports. The m had a faster hot lap and was faster over a 6 minute run.

I've seen them charged and discharged at 40 amps. I am not recommending you do this, in fact my recommendation is to contact fantom directly so they can give you accurate and safe instructions.
