I personally know someone that runs only 1 pack in a particular car - the same pack, every practice/heat/main, every race day. This has been for over a year or pretty regular running, and it's still plenty strong - possibly the fastest car in that class. Yes, that pack is about 18 months old (so that will tell you the kind of numbers on it) and it will still run away from new, higher voltage packs.

I (I mean he) charges at 6 or 6.5 amps every time.

So - CAN you do it? Yes - SHOULD you do it? Probably not...

what kind of (ball park figure) reduction in life would i see in a pack of IB4200's if i charged at 8amps? would the pack be ale to run well for a full season? i know that these questions are not the easiest to answer, but i just need an indication. thanks

not sure that there is a factor of life based on current of charge. to give you an idea, the first batch of 4200, charging at 8 amp actually reduce the life to about 2-3 months. the first batch had problems of venting on a charge, even at 5 amps

Most all the fast guys at our track charge at 8 amps, but they also keep fresh packs which is really the key,the best thing to do is just buy like one new pack every month or two and rotate your older packs to practice packs.

BUT.....the pack he is doing that with (multiple runs, higher charge) is not the same as the new IB4200's that he is referring too. They are a whole different animal. These require a little different approach than the others.

I don't know about Battery Diva - I think Battery Super-Hot-Fox-Gorgeous-Babe would be more fitting....

I know I've been kinda out of the loop lately- hoping to get things going again soon. Lots of changes lately and more coming with work and other stuff. All good changes, just lots to do...
