We have Popeye's out here, it's pretty good. A bit on the oily side, but very tasty.

Hey Neil,

Gotta quick question for you. At the nats how often were most guys changing tires? I've heard some people say the CS-27's actually get better after a few runs and some people say one or two runs is all you get out them.

Thanks
Brandt

The tire wear at the nats track was extremely good. The best runs are when the tires are brand new. And after two or three stages of tire treatment, they were good to go. The track was not as abrasive as other tracks, so we were able to use the tires for two, three, or four runs. There is always the battle of tire management. Knowing when to use "freshies", or one run tires during a particular time of day is always challenging.

Default CS-27 Wear

I thought the CS-27's were supposed to be "long life" tires - like several race days worth. Have I been trying to get too much use out of them?

Of course I just run a parking lot track.

Well long life tires are relative. They are long life if you continue to use them all the way down to the belt. However, as you wear down the rubber, the tire handles different. Effectively less traction with the loss of rubber. If you use them for parking lot racing, they are fantastic for economy and traction. For national events, they are only good for a run or two before you put on another set.
