Okay, I'll post "on topic" now... With the new shorter cells, are you guys finding that the 1.165's and above are competitive with the 1.175's and above in the older, larger cells? I'd like to pick up some new cells, but I've noticed that Fukuyama's not showing the 1.17's in stock.

My Fuk 1.174's and 1.170's are great cells, just wondering what I can expect from the new, shorter cells.

Any input is appreciated.

Rob

Actually, I didn't mind it too much out there but I wouldn't want to live there. Good place to visit. We were there in July in El Reno. My wife got off the plane in OK City and asked where the mountains were!

I am noticing that. I got some 1.165's from Dan that I was just going to use for off road practice packs but they've turned out to be very strong packs.

I don't have any personal experience with the shorty cells yet. I'll give a review of them after the race on Sunday. Dan, you'll have some I can use right?

Default charging for mod

I would like to know how or what is a good way to charge for mod .I am about to run mod for the first time,Ive only run stock and charge my 3300 on my gfx at 6 amps with .05 peak detect. should I charge at a lower amp? also is running mod and stock with the same packs going to affect them because of the different amp draws from mod to stock? thanks

You should be OK running both with the same packs. Charge @ 5 amps and delta to 50mv across the pack. Correct me if I'm wrong Dan or John.

Charge at 5 amps for mod with the same peak detect. This will give you a longer runtime and lower voltage which isn't a huge deal for mod runners. You want a higher voltage charge for stock for faster speeds and even 390 seconds @ 30 amp discharge will be adequate runtime for stock. Therefore we suggest charging at 6 amps.

Good luck and happy racing. You'll like the power of mod motors and Fukuyama cells.

I run mod 1/12th scale and the power of a P-94 12 double and 4 Fukuyama cells blows pretty much everyone out of the water. I'm so much faster than everyone it boggles the mind. Most guys are running like 9 singles too! I love mod racing

With the KR's, be careful how you gear them and time them. I know a lot of guys swear by them but I've run a couple of 10X2 and had overheating trouble. If you hit the right combo, they're a fast motor. I never did.

John, you're running regular P-94's in 1/12th? I was under the impression those were more of an off road motor.

Ive heard the same thing about the motors ,from what ive read they dont like to be timed more than 18* adv and to gear them like they are 1-2 winds lower.I think most of the problems with the motor has come from the timing wher guys were trying to run them similar to the ti's which like timing in the 20's .only repeating what I have read about them.

I don't know, but they're impressive motors. They're hand wound by dieter and were his prototypes. I got 6 motors for 50 bucks. 7,8,9,10,11,12 doubles. The 7 turn one really kicks butt, but never raced that one yet.
