Quick bump with some results:

Murfdogg packs powered me to the TQ + Win 2 weeks ago the the Snowbirds warmup race in 17.5 TC over 5 past ROAR national champions, as well as the win in Mod TC. Last week, I also took the win at the ROAR region 2 Regional event in 17.5 TC, as well as taking 3rd in mod TC.

Yes, they are ROAR legal.
From Matt Murphy, "Murfdogg Motorworks":
The 2014 used to describe the latest batches of MurfDogg SYNERGY Motors is used for inventory purposes to help our dealers differentiate between earlier SYNERGY Motors. This is necessary because the cost of manufacturing has increased over the past 5 years, and we have had to adjust our pricing structure accordingly. The 2014 SYNERGY motors are the same ROAR Legal design that we have sold since 2010. All of the ROAR Specified components such as the stator design and rotor design are unchanged from the original SYNERGY Motors. The one visible difference is a new solder tab system. Our previous "PCB Style" solder tabs had a few more customer complaints than we would like to see, so for the sake of durability, we have changed over to a "bus bar" style solder tab. You may have noticed an addition of "-14" at the end of the part number. This helps our retail partners differentiate the motors sold before and after the price increase. As always, we stand behind all products bearing the MurfDogg name, and the change in our solder tabs is proof that we strive for absolute customer satisfaction.
Hope this is helpful and appreciate you intrest in Murfdogg Motors.
Thank you,

Awesome thanks ranger I just wanted to make sure that they didn't change anything in the 14 model to where I couldn't run in some series I run so I pulled the trigger and just bought one looking forward to running it

My next question I run stock buggy 17.5 at OCRC my car is 1500 on the dot with super light drive terrain it's geared at 73/34 same internal as AE b4/5s which is 2.60 what should I be running for timing?? And what size is the rotor in it? Thanks for all your help

In my touring car, I have had the best success with the 12.3 (red) rotor, and 15* of timing.

The standard rotor is a 12.5mm High Torque(HT) and the RPM rotor is 12.3mm. With either rotor we've found +7-15* endbell timing works well in the stock-no ESC timing classes. The HT rotor requires more gear and the RPM rotor requires approximately 2 less teeth on the pinion.
Thanks for choosing Murfdogg Motors!

I race at SDRC in San Diego and like the 12.5mm HT rotor with 10 timing. You are geared about right. Adjust the pinion depending on layout and motor temp. Try and do a 10 minute practice run at as close to race speed as possible, with a motor temp at the end between 140-150F.
