I have 2 questions well actually one question and 1 "I need some insight" plea...
1st the question. I purchased 3 sets of IB4200WC loose packs. pretty nice numbers (well actually way nicer than what I am using) Anyways, I built the first pack as usual. Using Muchmore bars, deans silver solder and the weller 100W iron.
unfortunately the battery is not accepting anycharge. the charger wont give any no battery warnings but the voltage stays low and the MAH indicator doesnt go up. My muchmor discharge tray has blown up (dont ask
) so I cant see which cell(s) is(are) bad.
I am kind of scared at the moment to charge them one by one because a second pack blown up on my friend on cycle (not Orion pack it was from zeppin but again IB4200WC cells)
Should I go ahead and try to charge these cells one by one? And how should I proceed afterwards. bad cells no bad cells etc...
now my plea... I actually wrote it on the electric section but I go no answers... under Brushless system question in 415MRE... My main issue is this.
the car ran slow and dumped at 3.5min mark with 76x18 GR with 2.25IR 9.4FDR (about) motor very hot, LRP tc Spec ESC very hot no thermal. Orion vortex 5.5
I finally ended up running 76x23 GR the motor was mildly warm and the esc was cool the car ran 6.5 mins and I broke the single lap record and total laps record.
So I am confused. I am used o the brushed and trying to figure out
I am thinking the FDR was too much for the motor for this particular track (medium sized track short straights with high traction ) but the car should have lauched from stand still like a rocket with this FDR right? well with the small pinion it was very slow at start up and the power came right when I needed to brake for turning.
Program was the same with all gears. and I actually tried 24 pinion on testing and the car was just faaaasssst. I actually destroyed a diff on my first try because the car launched from stand still like a.... rocket... and the diff wasnt tight enough to handle the power it received.
I have pic of the car on one of the Amains with its front wheel off the ground under power...
So I am trying to figure out why such a thing occured. is this typical of brushless systems. gear up all the way until it over heats??? but gearing down over heats it and there is not mechanical torque... I go from a 9.4FdR to 7.1 FDR (actually by mistake first then saying "oh what da hell") and the car changed from a rolling dipstick to a monster on steroids...
So my problem here is I have a fast car and I dont know why it is fast
So thanks in advance for any insight you can give me on my dilemma,
