As long as you run the 7.5 on the Sidewinder with max of 2s lipo you'd be fine. 3s is a no-go. Runtime is going to vary with gearing, weight of the vehicle, actual kv of the motor, # of times you go to low throttle then back up to high (amperage is highest at low throttle, drops as you go towards full)...no way to tell you runtime due to the number of factors involved. You just have to try it.

Thanks Joe
Considering the second-hand 7.5 ends up costing like $40 less than a second hand sensorless motor, I just can't justify the extra cost for sensorless.

Hey Joe another great weekend on the Castle 4600/Sidewinder combo as this will be the 15th month on them and it is as fast as ever. I was TQ in 2wd mod and Aaron was 2nd. I made the wrong tire choice and finished 3rd and Aaron finished 1st with the same motor speedo combo.

If I don't manage to talk with you this week you and your wife have a great Christmas.

Is there a 4100 and a 4200 mini brushless?? I have 2 motors from the micro nats, 1 a 4200 the other a 4100. Checking them on a dyno they're about 700 RPM different...

Wayne

Default Mamba Monster

I saw castle has the MM linked with a Neu motor, is it capable to using any brushless motor, like a novak 7.5 or 5.5?
What would be the draw backs of running this in a 1/10 truck?

THe biggest thing I noticed is you need to use 10% more drag brake than what you would use on the MM. I normally run 30% on the MM but need to run 40% to get the same feel with the SW.

Sidewinder worked great this weekend. My car was dialed all day and Sidewinder/4600 combo worked perfectly in my 2wd mod buggy. It is great to know each and every week I have a reliable motor and speedo combo. 15 months of racing almost every week and just like clock work the Castle setup works flawlessly.

Any problems I have had I could always trace back to user error or in my case a bad plug on the battery.

Great stuff.

What Brian (wyd) said...turn the brake up 10% from where you run with the Mamba Max.
