Just thought I would say hello since I was looking around and all. I don't want to be accused for never stopping by. And mom, 24....really?!? haha, I do hear that is a great show. But motors are so much more interesting.

Just miss hearing from you, that's all!! But, soon we'll get

to see each other and yada yada and catch up!!

Yes, "24", not really my fault. Jason had a friend who played

a military guy on the show a few years back. So, he said we

gotta watch "24" tonight because Tom's in the show tonight.

That's all it took!! I was HOOKED!!!!!!

Can't wait to see you at the JBRL!!

All of evernham's team got hit! We will see how they do in the race. They tore up all three cars in little E's wreck last weekend as well! Not a good way to start off the season!

Is there any tangible or noticeable difference between 12awg and 14awg wire?

12 is larger then 14 but I feel that is not your question. In mod it may make a difference but for stock assuming you are use a high quality wire I doubt you would notice a difference. Until you get to mod racing you really are not pulling enough amps to matter IMO.

It is my understanding that some of the new speedcontrols are coming with instructions to use a 13 awg wire. Whether or not you'll notice a difference is for you to determine. Some of the guys were dropping motor lead wires off the motor and going to a larger gauge wire has produced great results,
in both 19t and mod. They are no longer dropping motor lead wires.

Default Wire

Hello guys,
I had a major problem a couple of weeks ago at So-Cal due to the wrong gauge of wire. When I ran an Epic can mod 13x4 it started to melt the brushes to the com. With my 10x2 it un-soldered the positive lead to the motor tab. After speaking with Judi I needed to increase the wire gauge. The Novak GTX comes with 14 Gauge wire installed and I needed to install 12 gauge to allow more current / amperage with less resistance.

The reason for all of this is due to the new batteries such as the 4200 cells. This was never a problem for me or many other guys until the newest batch of cells just came out. What this means to me is my battery sponsor is kicking out some BAD A** cells and I am getting the most power out of a battery that I have ever seen. Thanks Slingshot!

I'm Here,
St*^&% off my rocker from all the acetone fumes.
Mixed up like 16 jars of paint today and painted 2 bodies(mask to finish).
I was in a zone.
Stickers only go to the 'Banzai loyal'

P.s. I change the avitar and sig. up weekly.
Couldn't bear to 'change up' the avitar or the sig(too much)

Okay, my tempgun tells me 180', on my 'hot' runs.(kd19BANZAI)
Casper 'investigated' a motor that came off at 186', He saw some 'discoloring' of the endbell.
Wardo ran it for a few AFTER that, SMOKING hot!
19t gearing should be close to the same as stock, no? 1-2 teeth pinion?
Could it be a brush issue, and how do I tell?

I guess you're talking about 1 motor or 2?

If Casper saw it, I'm sure he asked about where it

was geared. Right??

No, the gearing is different on a 19t vs. stock, but I don't

do gearing, so one of the guys will have to answer, and all in

bed here at the moment!

No, sure doesn't sound like a brush issue, brush issues don't over-heat a

motor, sounds like a gearing

issue, especially on a very small track.

The K19's are VERY RPM motors, and gearing is even MORE critical

on them compared to the stocks.

One of the guys will help, probably in the morning.

I actually did not ask about gearing!

After Dan rebuilt the motor he said it only took a min for it to get smoking hot! The brushes were shot and the comm did not look so happy again. Not sure what was going on there but the motor looked like it has a a lot more then 1 min on it.

I rebuilt it with the special touch I learned from scott and did the brush trick and all was good when I left. Dan ran the motor in the last qual and the main and stated it was a rocket so I am assuming all is well in FHR land! The come was just under .280 so there is some good life in it still.

I am using a 78/19-20 for stock co27's. Is that good?
How bout 19t (kd19)?
I wanna get this right!

Do you know the internal ratio of the B4 tranny?

I run one tooth higher then I gear a c027 with a KD19T. I think you can use that as a good reference point. Not sure when the brush hood got cooked. I did see the brushes Dan pulled out of that motor and that was not a pretty site!
