I got your message the other day, but you broke up when you were leaving your phone number. E-mail me your phone number and I'll give you a call. [email protected]. As mentioned, the diff that comes with the Mx2 is a stock IRS one.
Thanks

Mx2 worked awesome for me yesterday! Still down on power though...gotta get me some new batts. My newest pack is nearly 2 years old now. Anyway I finished in 2nd place less then 2 seconds behind the leader. Good thing for me the guys who really had power all crashed

Where you gonna run it at?
What have you guy's found to be the best tire dia. for the MX2 and what ride height is best for 19T? The min. ride height is 3.5mm but I heard that this car likes it @4.5 to 5mm.
Thanks

Had the Darkside out at our second club race this past Sunday. In the main I managed to get past John Poulson (I've never beaten him in a straight race) at about the 3-minute mark and was pulling away about 1-2 tenths per lap. Things were looking GREAT until the drive side axle bearing exploded (pic attached) at about 5-minutes. ARGH!!! Car rolled to a stop with the sound(s) of spur gear dying. As one might expect the "continuously variable gear mesh" that is a feature of such bearing incidents is a bit hard on gears.
I'll get 'em next time.

FYI - We have started a club to race carpet in Colorado. CORRC, links are here on RcTech. We have our first test and tune date on Saturday with the first race on Sunday. We should have 3-4 Mx2's running and I've even offered a drive to Mr. Darkside in one of my cars. (he's also trying to get me to run oval, which I have not done for 15+ years, but that is another story)
Track is 60' x 120' - new CRC carpet. So if anyone is in the area, we are runnning twice a month from November to March and have a 2/3 day race at the end of March.
With the track, we should also be able to do some testing with cars back to back, so if there is anything we should try, post it here.

You're missing something
What you're seeing is the outer race of the bearing in there...doesn't project all the way into the carrier/adjuster so it looks kinda like the flange is pointing inboard. It's not, all flanges (carrier/adjuster to pod and bearing to carrier/adjuster) are pointed toward the wheel. All is good.

I'll post some pictures from the track to day by the end of the weekend. We are down to 2hrs to set up. Facility rented us the space for 1/2 price to get everthing set up and worked out. Should have 6-8hrs of practice today!!

Mike 415 was correct, Dan W was very fast running for the past 4 weeks has really helped. Mike was also getting back up to speed. I on the hand was working doing much stress testing and supplying parts and tool to the "Team". I'll have to post a picture of the rear motor pod, you will not beleive the break!!
