I've done it lol. The 5100 is a beast but is close to a 5.5. The 4100 works great but lacks the snap a 5.5 would have.

Be careful, I melted mutliple spur gears testing this.

Another quick check is to power up your ESC and hit WOT and verify all LED's ramp up and then flash all at the WOT mark.
Need to add the ability to scale or percentage offset the throttle and brake value in the PC side of the tool. I've set all my radios to 100% value on brakes, throttle and re-calibrated the ESC and every Tekin ESC datalog is +/- 10-25% off and different for each esc.

It's very minor as you note as long as you see it flatline you know you're WOT but it seems like a simple fix for a software guy to institute in an update.

If you're running the currently available 2s version, yes.

Default Tekin sc4x 5.5 550 Brushless

How far past the notch on the can is recommend for this motor for timing? I'm using the notch in the can and the black timing notch as a base point.

Default home made dyno

While testing I learned a valuable lesson. make sure to turn drag brake off or else the ESC may blow...

I wish I kept the plotted data from the current sensor when it peaked. I was in awe that it worked. Will be more careful in the future.

Heat is the main concern. What ESC?

Is the 1st gen RS Pro still sufficient enough for 17.5 blinky TC? I would assume yes, but everything else has changed... I don't really want to buy more escs, as I have 2 of these already.

The original Rspro was sold with a 2.5t motor. It will have no issues running a 17.5t motor blinky or boosted.....

Was getting ready to check out a new 5.5 for my 4w buggy. Noticed there is a 6.5 spec r motor too? Question is why would want this over a 5.5 or a 6.5 normal motor? Seems a mod motor with that low of turn has plenty of send it power without low resistance design. LOL

Yes that's easily covered.

The Spec R 6.5 was specifically designed for the popular 1/12 6.5T "Mod" class. It may work in a TC but none of us liked the powerband in off-road.

Oh wow. Almost pulled the trigger on the spec r today. Glad I waited. I knew if it was not in Lutz's 4w buggy there had to be a reason. I have been wanting a 5.5 anyway. Guess I better order some front arms too. #sendit
