I have actualy found, running the RS Pro in sensored mode, pretty good, as it is easy to add a little more top end speed.

keep the neutral width to 1bout 15 on the hotwire

TP linear (3)

Limiter to about 85

Boost about 10-15

gear about 10.5:1 on a long track

I run the 6.5 often and use 84/19 and run the following setup:

If you need more top end just bring up the "Timing Advnace" in incriments of 10. Pay attention to motor temp after every adjustment.

Thank you for the quick replys.

I will start with the attached settings (or in that range).

I will get some 16-20 tooth pinions anyway, but it was mostly the Hotwire settings I'm a little confused about.

Is there perhaps some downloadable manual I can read ahead of time untill I recieve the ESC/motor combo.?

Hey guys, I just purchased an rc10 and I have a r1 pro with 448 sensorless and am geared 22/87. This thing is wicked fast and was good in my slash but is soo fast in the sc10 its uncontrollable. I have a dx3s so I have my end point turned way down but there must be another motor that would better suit this setup. I only drive on the track but alternate from a large to small 10 scale track. I also am waiting for my hot wire to come in so what should my base starting setup be when I get it? Thanks for the help on this great product you guys have produced.

You might want to consider a Redline 632 motor. Still very fast but also much more drivable in a sc10. Once you get your Hotwire email Randy Pike to get the newest software for it because the newer version help the R1 out quite a bit. I used to run the Redline 448 motor in my 4 wheel mod car and that was way stupid fast. It is insane power for a sc10.

Thanks a bunch, I'll look into getting that motor. In the mean time what would a base set up be with hot wire? I ran at OCRC and it was hooking up pretty good and my 448 was pretty killer with some traction.

I would try to tame it a bit since the 448 is A LOT of motor for an SC10.

Try running low timing advance like 20 or so. Next use the Punch Control and set it like 75.

Then remember to "squeeze" the trigger!

Awesome, Thanks Randy and blue. I am in the process of building my 8TE 2.0 conversion and think I'm going to swap the MMM I have for an RX8. It sounds like everyone is really liking the RX8.

Yeah, I don't have one just yet, because my other 1/8th scale is in about 1500 different pieces, but I have seen them first hand and they rock. Even a mild system in the right hands can destroy most nitro cars with a similar level driver.

Will an RS pro work in 1/8 scale applications with a fan? Probably looking to run 4s.

It worked very well in our testing. It can get overheated because of no heatsink, but ran fine with typical buggy setups. A fan at the solder posts is helpful.

You do need at least 25V caps for 4S and 35V caps for 5S or 6S.

You also need a seperate BEC unit and pull our red wire from the reciever plug.

If you do use the RSpro in 1/8 scale we want it in Dual mode with fairly low timing. NO sensored only mode, especially with 40mm motors like our T8 1/8 motors.

Any recommendation on motors when using the RS pro in 1/8 scale?

To get the full advantages you need a Tekin T8 motor. It will work with any 1/8 scale motor.
