Testing pre-production units now. If all continues to go well we will be in production and have them built in a few weeks.

171 revs of software does sound crazy now that I think about it. However many are just small changes to user features or paths we went down that did not work. Each compiled version that makes it to testing and off the emulator gets a number so we have version control and can back up.

Some of the latest changes that cause it to jump a few numbers are small changes. It now shows the nearest led when you select custom values in the Hotwire instead of just showing led 1. It now saves the custom voltage cutoff on led4 and you can return to it without the hotwire. Most important we fixed the timing error, that is a biggie that should provide higher spool out and allow many to gear down a little.

Please use 80 or higher on timing until you get the new version

If it makes you feel better, I've had more revisions than that in a single week during development.

But then again, I've had as few as 4 for an entire program.

No, because it would not give you the results you expect. We tested the Fx over a huge range of freqs and did not see any difference in feel. Ultimatley we set it at the optimum freq for effeciency and comm/brush wear. Most tell us it is unmatched in stock and 19t for motor temps, rip, comm/brush life and overall feel.

What are you trying to accomplish? There are other adjustments to get the feel you want like current limitor and throttle profiles.

I was wondering if there is a "expected" release date for the RX8.
Thanks
Bob

Unfortunatley it will still be a few months. The unit is designed and the proto boards are odered, but we still have to make the housing mold which takes 8 to 12 weeks. We may be able to rush it since our molds are made local in Idaho and maybe we can bride them to hussle.

We are seeing really good results with the R1pro in 1/8 scale. There is a thread about this application in the offroad section.

Version 180 is released for the R1 and RS speedos.

Even if you downloaded version 180 recently during the short time it was posted please do it over. Please uninstall your current hotwire using the windows add/remove programs and install the new version. Download the new .zip file from the website and run the setup.

We updated the hotwire a little also. We fixed the timing suggestion for the 3.5 motor, but I see we reversed the 4.5 and 5.5 motors…. We will catch that one next time when Chris gets back from climbing mountains in Canada. We also added a timing suggestion for the sensorless motors.

Enjoy!

Should be no problem as long as you are on mini batteries. The batteries really limit the overall power and the B1 can handle all they can deliver.

hey guys, I'm going to be running a trinity 17.5 with a Tekin rs speed controller in my 12th scale. My question is that the sensor wire that comes with the speed controller seems like its going to be way short. Does Tekin offer a longer sensor wire? and if so, whats the part number?
