Default NEW SMC C-MAX 5200 Puffed or not?

Here is a pic of my NEW never plugged in pack. It arrived at 7.42v. Have not attempted to use it yet.Waiting on charger. Not sure if its puffed or if the cover wasn't put on right. Opinions?

Guess I can't post pics yet.

Id say bad glue, I had a 5200 also that looked just like that. You have a fine battery there, good luck.

They didn't say what the problem was. Just to send it in for replacement.

I would just charge it and run it. Save yourself the bucks for shipping.

Mine among others at the local track have all had this exact issue if not worse. We are all seeing swelling of the batteries. Some worse than others.

If they are Lipo's, and they are swelling after using them, you need to stop using them. If you keep using them, they can explode or catch fire. Especially if they are soft case Lipo's that are swelling.

I have the same pack and it has a slight gap in the case along one of the sides. The pack works great and doesn't seem to have opened up any more in the past 20 or so cycles.Seems like it may just be a little loose, not swelled.

Mine looked the same when I first purchased it, and it's seen 60-70 cycles since with no ill effects (including 1 weekend w/ 18 cycles). Your probably OK, but keep an eye on things to make sure that it doesn't get worse...
