Default general lipo question

I've notice a lot of 5000 or more mah batteries are wired 2s2p my question is how does the balancer balance the 2 cells that are wired in parallel? if I'm understanding correctly on how balance works a 2s2p battery will never have a true balance due to the wiring configuration?

Since the 2 cells are in parallel they become one cell so they will both charge to the same voltage.

The reson why higher capacity packs use a 2P setup is mostly because of the limits in hardcase size and also a Lipo cell can't really be thicker than 8.5mm which limits it's capacity.

Danny;
Do you have anything coming soon that a World Gt can use a 13.5 motor with and be competitive against a 4 cell pack.I tried with the single cell with no luck for as long as you have had the cell available.I can't switch to a different motor.Now I'm waiting for a lipo that will be competitive with a 13.5 motor against 4 cells

It's impossible to have the same speeds with a single cell Lipo against 4 cell sub-c as the voltage is different. You would need to run about a 9.5 or 10.5 to be the same speed.

So do you have a lipo battery coming out soon that would be 7.4 volts. I can switch batteries but have to stay with the 13.5 motor.

If you mean a 7.4V pack for 1/12th scale that won't happen as the single cell will be the way to go as it has a good speed range. A 2 cell pack would be to fast.

So what do you have that you can recommend.Since I've got a old chassis with 5 slots for the round batteries what will fit in a hard case?

Our single cell hardcase pack fits where a normal 4 cell sub-c pack fits.
