Dear SMC racing supporter:
In case i am newer of using LIPOs. So i bought 3 SMC 4700 40C MR Lipo packs at beginning of May and used to charge with an Hyperion EOS 720 Net3which i bought only at last week.
So i try to start charging only today, before charging the 1st one the original voltage of pack is 7.11V.
So picked the full charge function to charge is, unfortunately after 120min the voltage appeared in balance display are 4.20 and 3.97 then I switched OFF the operation.
I told this case to my friend and he told me try to make balance discharger to equalizing both cells them try again, until now i am still on balancing operation.

Could you tell me if this condition is normal, balancing at 1st time of charge?

What could i do?

This seems like one of the cells has a shorting issue.

Please send the pack back to us.

Are the other 2 packs o.k. ?

Really must to send?
After balancing then go charging, it could stop until 8.4v in 20 min, and the car run anyway.
About of other 2 packs, 1 of them has also with little unbalanced, but much more better than the 1st one, the 3rd one don't need to balancing.

Please email me at danny@smc-racing.com so I can better understand what is happening and what you need to do with your pack.

Hello,

I just saw this pack on a website
SMC 5200mAh 50C+ C-Max 7.4V Hard Case w/Deans T Plug
[SMC-5250CM]

Two questions:
+ is it for real that this is 50C rated ?

+ would you feel any difference with a 10.5 turn brushless motor
between this pack and the SMC 4700 40C packs ?

Thanks,
Patrick

The SMC lipo I have in stock seem to puff a little. I would return all of them
to SMC. Would you like to wait for the new replacement from SMC? Or refund?
Please let me know.\

Default puffed packs

I have two 5000 28c packs that are swelled. I charge them on my gfx turbo35 and a losi lipo charger, i run the packs all race day and charge and balance the next day with a astro blinky plug. The packs still run good but have swelled up considerably. any help would be great as i want to buy some new packs but need to figure out why i messed these up first.
