Nomaak--You DO NOT want to deadshort these cells. They should not be brought down below .09 volts. To be safe, you may even want to just discharge down to 1 volt per cell. These cells (along with all the newer cells including IB) have a hard self discharge so you want to store them with half a charge to be safe. The way I see it on this is that it's better to be safe than sorry and more storage charge does not have a negative effect on the cells.

Dave--I'll look forward to hearing from you. I'd like to get back down to do some racing with you too....

Dead shorting is not a good thing for the EP or the IB cells. Both loose a ton of runtime with no real positive gains. These cells already have super low IR and very high AV numbers. The GP cells are still some of the most bulit proof cells I have ever dealt with but these EP cells are quite strong. They do not like the dead shorting that the GP's would take though. Keep these cells above .9 and store them with a charge left on them to maintain runtime. You do not really need all the runtime of a 4200 mah cell to make 5 min but the increase runtime help keep the voltage high for your entire run which is important.

Have a safe and happy new years to all! See you at the track in '07!

Wise choice K-bojar.
And I'll say that I am also going to run exclusively,Slingshot and Banzai motors in the Cactus Classic this year.
They have both proven to me to be the Best that I have found.
Trust me when I say that I have put their stuff thru the ringer.
