Keith tried to get ahold of you yesterday but you did not answer your phone. You know what Ryan and I asked for. Just need to find some time to meet up with you to get them!
Hope you are feeling better. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help. I know Greg is probably pick up the slack for you while you gimp around!
Just make sure you get well enough to make it to Cactus!
Except it would not let me log in, saying my password was no bueno... Then it would lock me out for 15 minutes saying someone tried logging in 5 times with the wrong password...... No worries though, got it fixed......

Angelina is on that movie. Too bad the rating is not worse on that movie. There are some scenes in that movie that could be a lot better if you know what mean! Good movie though.
Friend I race with purchased 3 E-Power 4500's. I get them home and put them together and put them on my Trinity DPD's. Two of the packs discharged just fine and I stuck them on my Ice chargers at 5 amp, 5mv and they both charged up to 4500mah no problem.
When I placed the last pack in the DPD it had good voltage in all the cells but after an hour it still had not discharged down to .09 volts. I put it in my other DPD and it wouldn't drop it either. I then put it in my Novak smart tray where it still sat and would not discharge. The battery wasn't getting hot or anything so I had no idea what was going on. I took out my bulb discharger and after another 5 minutes the lights dimmed so I put the pack back on the smart tray where the lights finally went out and then the charger after the other two finished. After just a few minutes on the charger I heard the dreaded "hisss" and quickly unhooked the charger. The end cell that I hooked the positive battery lead to vented for roughly 5 seconds and then stopped.
I'm really unsure of what to do at this point. I told my friend if needed I would purchase an additional cell to replace it but I think I will tray the battery again and then try to charge it again and see what it does.
Has anyone ever had a cell vent for a few seconds and still be okay?
Thanks,
Jason

Venting is not always "death" to a cell. It usually results in that cell loosing some runtime though. That is odd you had such and issue disharging that pack. The batteries are shipped with a good amount of charge on them. At low discharge rates like the smart tray it could take a while to get that battery normalized at .9V. The DPD discharges at 5 amps or 30amp pulse right? That should not have taken an hour. I would look over the solder joints real good to make sure there is not a cold solder joint or something that might be adding a lot of resistance to that cell which might be causing some of these issues. Other then that not sure what else it could be without looking at the pack or cycling it myself. If you continue having issues with this new pack contact slingshot at support@slingshotbatteries.com and Greg will help you out!
I'll go home tonight and redo the solder on that cell. I'm using an 80w weller so I usually dont have trouble getting joints hot but that could be the problem. I'll goof around with it again tonight and see what happens.
Thanks for the reply! There are three of us using Slingshots at my track now and more people have been asking about them!
