I remember a time when you were all about lipo and brushless..... Ahhhhh, the good ole days..........
Your point is noted, however the fact is that they are allowing BL and lipos. Either we can all step up or not and not be competitive or not go at all...... The choice is up to you......
don't get me wrong, i know BL is the future. i've know it since i bought a 5800 novak system 5 years ago. all i'm saying is they should make sure its the same as the "avarage" brushed motor. i decided i was going to the cactus last year, and i don't plan on chaging my mind

Well, just think about it, if it was just the same as a brushed motor, that would not be a great future just going the same speed. We want to go faster longer and more efficiently soo................

No trailers, RV's, or Campers are allowed, not enough parking. There are numerous hotels ranging from $60-200+ a night all within minutes of the track. An EZ up is a must, as well as a pit table and chairs. Most people with split a room with a few others which makes it alot more affordable. At the minimum, plan on coming in on Thursday morning so you can get a pit space and plenty of practice in, and staying thru Sunday, go home Sunday night (long drive after about a 12 hour day!) Staying until Monday morning is alot easier if you can swing the time off (thats what I'm doing) Bring a cooler for ice, water, food, etc, you'll be glad you did.

Those are the classes but the rules are still being debated.....
It will be the most intersting Cactus classic ever. That is for sure. This will be the first time Brushed/BL and nimh/lipo will be tested together in one big race ever to my knowledge. (at least in offroad). And it is all happening at the largest electric only offroad race of the year!
Syber-- If you are really thinking of going to this race get your entries in early as the race will fill up.
The first "big race" to have both technologies against each other was The JConcepts Clash, but there were probably a few others before it that we didn;t know about......
That is true. Did they run 13.5 in the brushed stock class as well? I know they had the 10.5 and 19T long main class.
update: I just looked up the JC race. They only had 10.5/19T class. They did not run "stock" at all. I think most people agree that the bearing brushed 19T against the 10.5 BL motor is the most even match of the BL/brushed "spec" motor equivalency debate!
