RaceWorks Hobbies On-Road Endurance Race 2013
Race Date: 2 Nov 2013
Basic Information:
A 4-Hour Endurance Race using the Spec-R S1 Touring Car Chassis, in 17.5T Blinky Mode.
General Rules and Regulations:
1. Registration limit to 15 teams only. At least 5 teams required to start the race.
2. Team requirements:
- 3 – 4 members per team
- Each team member MUST drive for at least 1 leg of 40mins
- Change of drivers can only be done upon the Race Director’s announcement at every 40mins mark during the race.
- Other team members are to marshal their own cars as there will be no marshals designated.
3. Equipment Restrictions:
- Chassis: Spec-R S1 Touring Chassis (Tagged)
- Tires: Huge 35R, Pre-Glued
- Bodyshell: Blitz XFR Normal Weight
- ESC: ESCs of any make in Blinky Mode (No Boost and Timing)
- Motor: 17.5T Motors of any make
- Min. weight after race: 1450g
- FDR open, Spur and pinion gears used on the car are opened to any make
- Batteries: Any 7.4V, 2S Lipo or 7.2v, 6-cell Nimh
4. Repairs/upgrades:
- Only original Spec-R parts are allowed, except Spur Gear
- Any genuine Aluminium Spec-R upgrades
- All Carbon Fibre upgrade parts are strictly prohibited
- All repairs MUST be done in the Pit-Area only
- Only battery and tire change can be done at the Drive-In pit lane on the track
5. Drivers’ behaviour:
- Smoking is allowed at the designated smoking area only
- Strictly NO smoking at the Track and in the Pit Area
- Basic race etiquette must be observed at all times during the race
6. Penalty:
- Any team or team members found not observing the smoking and pitting/repair rule, as well as displaying poor race etiquette, will result in penalty of deduction of laps
- Any car found with prohibited upgrades will be disqualified from the race
7. Race Fees:
Option A - $220 (For teams without a S1 car kit):
- Race fee for the team
- Spec-R S1 car kit x 1 piece
- Spec-R R1 Aluminium Motor Mount (SPR-R1A109) x 1 piece
- Spec-R R1 Aluminium Wheel Hex (SPR-R1A110) x 1 set (of 4)
- Blitz XFR (NW) bodyshell x 1 piece
- Huge 35R, Pre-Glued Tires x 1 set (of 4)
Option B - $120 (For teams with a S1 car kit):
- Race fee for the team
- Blitz WRX, Normal weight bodyshell x 1 piece
- Huge 35R, Pre-Glued Tires x 1 set
8. Race promotion:
- Additional Spec-R S1 car kit (with alu. motor mount and wheel hexes) purchase at $155. Limit to 1 additional car kit per team. While stock lasts.
- Additional 1 set of Huge Tires and 1 x Blitz bodyshell at $55.
- Additional 3 sets of Huge Tires at $114.
- Purchase 1 x WTF 40mm fan and get a WTF ESC fan free (Limit 2 per team)
9. Registration and payment to be made on or before 31 October 13 at RaceWorks Hobbies. Collection of car kits upon payment.
10. Event time table:
3:00pm Registration
3:30pm Group photo taking and race brief
3:50pm Grid draw, followed by forming up on the grid
4:00pm Race Commence (Driver change every 40mins)
8:00pm End of Race
8:15pm Results and prize presentation
11. There will be an inspection conducted on the top 3 cars at the end of the race.
12. Top three teams will be awarded with Medals for each team member.
13. There will be a lucky draw conducted at the end of the race. Prizes will be contributed by: RaceWorks Hobbies, Spec-R, Quantum Racing and Overtake RC.
