Street Revo RC Drift Series 2012 Finale @ 28/10/12
Dear All RC Drifters,
This will be the last race of Street Revo RC Drift Series 2012... We hope that all drifters will take the courage to try on this carpet track for the last time... We might have some developments later which we will annouce very shortly... We hope that all drifters will appreciate the effort and funding that we had put in to make this track... Like the saying goes, good thing doesn't last, treasure it while it is still around... Come on, take the challenge up... Good Luck!

Regulations:
1. Chassis
a. Open Chassis – Any Brand
b. Only 1:10 scale chassis allowed and must be electric powered
c. Only ONE chassis allowed to be used throughout the race
2. Electronics
a. Participants are advised to carry 2 or more crystals if using AM/FM radio set
b. Participants are advised not to switch on their radios if not in use throughout the race
3. Tires Allowed
a. DS Racing Competition F0 Tires
4. Batteries Allowed
a. Ni-Cd / Ni-Mh / Li-po / Li-Fe can be used
b. No capacity restriction
c. Each battery pack not more than 7.4V
5. Motor Limit
a. Brush and Brushless System allowed
b. Limit : Open
6. Bodyshells
a. Only Painted and Realistic bodyshell allowed (Open Body)
b. Only ONE bodyshell allowed to be used throughout the race
7. Format
a. Counter Steer Drift or 4x4
*Hint: We are looking more on car angle*
Not to worry on the mix judging points as we will have separate judging criteria for individual driving method. More information will be announced during briefing.
Qualifying
- Marked Apex Points account for 5 and 10 pts each. Points will only be awarded for drifting through the marked apexes. No points will be awarded for accidents, missing the markers and lack of angle like touring.
- Marked Apex Points are positioned along the desired lining. Desired lining will be shown by placement of bodyshells at the start of the event.
- Accident-free Point System will be implemented. Points will be accumulated from the scoring apex after the latest accident or from the start of the round (if no accidents). All mistakes from the start of each round will still be deducted from the final result of each round.
- Points will be deducted for:
o Accidents
o Non-smooth drifting
o Insufficient/Excessive angle
o Steering correction
* The above judging criteria differ from judge to judge. Some might deduct more for a particular kind of mistake and some less, but each judge will maintain their own standard to ensure fairness for all drivers.
- Steering correction (Countersteer drivers)
o Drivers have to maintain countersteer into the direction the car is moving
o Points will be deducted for steer-in
o Judge will take notice only when car is drifting in corner and not during direction switching
- Steering correction (4WD drivers)
o Drivers are allowed to steer-in
o Points will be deducted if steer-in is not smooth as this shows that the driver does not know how much steer-in he needs.
E.g. Driver steer-in > neutral > steer-in > neutral, in the same corner.
o Judge will take notice only when car is drifting in corner and not during direction switching
Twin Drift
- Two drivers will be paired for twin battle. Each battle consists of 2 rounds where the higher qualified driver will be the leader in the first round and changeover to the chaser for the second round. If no winner emerges from the first battle, a second battle or sudden death will be required with the higher qualified driver as the leader for the first round. Judges will decide whether another battle or sudden death is to be done.
- 1 round consists of 1 lap around the track. Drivers are required to cross the finishing line.
- In the Sudden Death round, drivers will only be given 1 round with the higher qualified driver being the leader. The winner of that round will be the winner of the battle. If no winner can be determined, another round is required and the positions are swapped.
* In the unlikely event where no winner can be determined, it will be at the judges’ decision to issue a different kind of challenge for the drivers to determine the winner.
- Each driver has 5 points at the beginning of each round. The points will be transferred to the driver with the advantage throughout the round. Points from both rounds of each battle will be added together, and the winner of the battle will be determined by the higher points.
- There will be a pacing area after the starting line. Both cars have to be close to each other at the end of this pacing area. A restart of the round is required if the judges deem the distance between cars to be too far apart. The chaser shall stop before the end of this pacing area if he/she thinks that the leader is too far away.
- Judges will be looking mainly at:
o Smoothness
o Distance of leader to chaser
o Ability to follow the lining of the leader
* Judges will look at both cars to compare the difference in driving abilities. Chaser is advised to be close to the leader so the judges can better see the difference. If the chaser is too far apart, judges will focus mainly on the leader.
- Points will be deducted for:
o Accidents
