Engines
How about a thread for everything about nitro engines? Tuning and comparison, discuss it all HERE!!!

RB .21
I recently bought a RB .21 with efra pipe from a friend and got pretty pissed at the tuning of the engine. Can anyone help me?
I messed with the high end, mid range, and the low end.
Symtoms:
Good idle, but when i increased the throttle, the engine flamed out after the carb opened about half.

It's tough if not impossible to teach someone to tune a racing engine by writing about here as it involves listening to the engine's note, observing the head temp and running the car on the track. Sometimes if you're lucky you'll manage to solve your problem, most often not.
Your best bet is to go down to the tracks, watch who the really fast guys are, wait until they are not busy with anything then approach and inform them that you're a beginner and need help, I'm sure they be more than willing to help you if you ask them nicely.
Before you know it, you'll have new friends/Kakis and in no time, you'll learn how to tune your engines from them.
From what you described, your High end/Main needle could be too rich (lots of fuel sputting out the stinger before engine dies) or your mid range is too lean (Engine cuts abruptly with dry exhuast)
PS: The RBs are relatively easy pussies to tune, wait til you try tuning some of the earlier Piccos engines !
