FEMCA W.C. ALLOCATIONS’ QUESTIONNAIRE – On January 18, 2005, this Questionnaire was forwarded to you with your country’s allocations for the 2005 IFMAR W.C. events. Even though you may not require any allocations for these 3 events, please complete and return this Questionnaire, by fax or email, by February 28, 2005 so that any unused allocations can be re-allocated to other FEMCA drivers. Your co-operation in regard to this request will be appreciated.

This thread is started for the sole intent in support of the above event, please feel free to put up your queries here.
We are allocated 2 seats to the event in Jakata Indonesia. My immediate query for all GP Buggy RC'ers here and for those not on the Internet, please pass on the query:
Are there any interest? If I receive no replies, I may have to sent off a NIL return on Feb 28th. But I am sure there are plenty of interest around here. Therefore, the other query would be how many more (than the alloted 2) do we need?
For your information, this is what you need to be prepared for, other than being a good driver in Singapore:
1. Between 8 to 10 days of leave from either your job or your business or your school.
2. Airfare would cost you about $168 to $400 per pax depending on airline & class.
3. Be prepared for roughly $50~$100 for B & B per day you spent there.
4. As for your RC equipment, I won't even dare to put an estimate, probably experienced racers like Ah M, Danny Teh & Chris Sze would like to share a word or two.
Best if 2 drivers are going, then the 2 can share costs of B & B and psychologically support each other through the gruelling event.

hi peng heng,
1)as all know we will start qualifying for the 1/8 OFF ROAD world's race soon. so what is the point of going through the qualifying if we can register now?
2) is it still as before that one has to be a RCMC member to participate in a ifmar or femca event? if yes, what should happen to those who are not a member and fortunately manage to qualify at the end of the qualifying sessions with enough points and wants to take part in such events?
are they suppose to be not eligible at the end of the day?
3)and if i can register now, pls do count me in as i am more than glad to be able to participate!
pls correct if i'm wrong at the above 2 points.
thank you.

Wa... Wenyi got some good questions, so must answer first

Nope, you cannot register now for the iFMAR 1/8 buggy W.C.
FEMCA is merely asking Marine Parade RCMC 2 questions:
a. Does Marine Parade RCMC need the 2 alloted seats.
b. Does Marine Parade RCMC need more seats (unconfirmed and subject to availability - these extra seats are derived from, for example, Sweden, they being a larger sized country may be alloted 5 seats, but only 1 Swedish pax is going, so Sweden then returns 4 seats to iFMAR. So in the same way, all the extra seats are returned and the iFMAR President will then re-allocate them out to countries who require extra seats.
It is a norm that the host country gets at least 10 seats, plus all the returned extra seats that were not taken up by any other country.

Yes, all FEMCA and iFMAR events needs one to be a member of Marine Parade RCMC.

You said it perfectly right, Wenyi. At the end of the series, even if you rank number 1, but you are not a Marine Parade RCMC member, then FEMCA will not accept your registration.
Please be clear here, it is NOT Marine Parade RCMC that dictate. It is the Asian bloc (FEMCA) and the International Federation (iFMAR) that would reject your registration for their events if you are not a member.

Once you paid up, you are in. Do email or PM me your full name as in your NRIC. I have lots of racers using nick names and it is kind of hard to figure out if you are one or the other.
I give you a good example - Ah M, sorry Ah M, I am not poking fun at you, just that it is indeed a good example. Ah M's NRIC name is by no means anything indicative of Ah M. Can't give you a prize, but I would be surprise if you know Ah M's NRIC name. with the exception of Danny Teh and Chriz Sze who went with Ah M for the last W.C. in Furuland.
Ah M had shown us a good example for the physically and mentally prepared at the last Malaysia GS Open Race, he finished work at middle of the night straight away drove to KL arrived at about 7am+ and go through the race and won the A-main second.
We believed that to be a good and top driver u must be physically and mentally prepared at all time and the winning is just the secondary, sportmanship come in first. Kenny & Chih Fei both are experiance drivers and had been attended some of the International Race they should know very well what they want, further more both of them needed to go through the selection series race too, so it dosen't mean that for sure they will win the seat, unless nobody wanted to joint for the world race, possible ??
(1) Everyone will have to go thru a qualifying stage. Just too many interested in going.
PH was interested to see how many going! So if only 2 is interested, than no need to qualify. But there seems to be more people than the seat alllocated so qualifying is a must.
(2) Everyone must be a member of the affiliate club before you can go to such a sanctioned race.
If you mentioned the scenario as below, I don't think the lucky fella can join. Cos he is not a member of the affiliate club of IFMAR and FEMCA.
Like I mention in the M'sian thread, IFMAR and FEMCA is just like FIA in motor racing. You must be a member and follow certain rules set by the governing body. Also like FIFA.
Rc driver ( S'pore and M'sia ) are not used to the standards and rules set by IFMAR and FEMCA. Drivers will learn more and there are rules and regulations to follow. As for the rest of the drivers in other parts of the world. They already know the rules.
We are extremely slow in this area.
hi Danny..
we singaporeans do appreaciate your concern and advice on most issues. but as and when where international events are concern, i believe you should let us handle and understand the matter ourselves through our local club.
and wenyi, thought you have been to world's race before?? hai...
danny, no offence. i believe it's simply just what locals here feel..
