Ran in my 2nd and 3th tank today the engine temperature is still on the high side after serval settings manage to bring down the temperature have problem modding the throttle linkage and throttle return spring help needed any suggestion
How are you setting up the throttle linkage? For the throttle return spring, you can try making a small hole at the side of the roll bar and connect the spring between the rollbar and the carb.
How you managed to run in your engine with all this heavy rain?
Would like to check with you all gays what kind of temperature did you get during the run in? as for me i am getting about 95 to 100 'C .The only problem that i have is the one way bearing at the starting side alway give way as i am useing a rotor starter for my savage 25.

Bro, what is MCP? I still dun have my Savage yet. Winnie says about 1 - 2 days time
Anyway, in the meantime, I am getting all the other stuff for it so that everything will be ready when it comes. I bought a new hump pack, CA glue, 10000WT diff oil and a new fuel filter. Maybe later I might be going down to Tai Sing to get the spider gear set for the diff mod and 30000WT diff oil for the front diff. I haven't found the stuff for the throttle mod yet. I think Winnie should have.
Some pics that might help with the throttle linkage mod.
Meet up lah once we got both our Savages settled then we can discuss what to do next. Hopefuly I can get mine ready by Sat afternoon.

Emaxx cannot make it?! ok...once i get my truck, i'll race with u....let's not compare run time coz electric cars sure lose out for sure... :L
But performance wise, i think if it's properly configured in terms of motor selection, battery voltage, amp draw, etc...Electric can be good also....hassle free...
once u go into a good electric setup, u'll want to stick with it coz u just carry two box to the field/track....the car, your TX box and spare batts...
no messy nitro, no fuel bottle, no starter kit.
Disadvantage about batt is that u either gotta have lots of batt packs or have a good field charger...otherwise 2 or 3 packs and u have to call it a day...
Nitro u just pump, and go, pump and go until your tank runs out.

The Emaxx is a good MT to start with too. A dual brushless setup would outrun any nitro MT.
not necessary...Brushless motors might have less torque as compared to brushed motors...so there's no way electric MT can fight for power with a nitro. But top end speed, i think they can be compared.
Only thing about electric is that your neighbour won't be calling in the police for noise when u run your trucks at the carparks. :L

From my experience, BL usually got *more* torque than brushed.
And also the torque is 100% available from zero rpm, unlike nitro engine that has to rev up before you got torque.
BLs got enough torque to twist the centres out of touringcar wheels and also twist dogbones.
Originally posted by firegarden777 If I'm not mistaken, the updated differential should be indicated on the box. Anyway, I'll still be getting the extra spider gears just in case I blow my differentials.
Only the RTR Savage has the new 4-spider diffs, not SS kits.
There is a sticker on the box if so.
Last batch of SSs had no sticker on the box = no new diffs.
Winnie had spare diff gears anyway for you to upgrade.
I bought a spare whole diff (HPI retail package), that too is only 2-gear.
I have been running 4-spider since day 1 and have already
blown the rear diff. The gears chewed thru the plastic cup,
then chewed themselves up. Has only drank < 3L fuel all up.
Tower Hobbies has the SS as "discontinued", no more stock to sell.
It shouldn't be a problem as long as there are still hop-ups and spares. Anyway there should be a new Savage SS with a .28 engine coming up soon. Bummer, since I just getting my Savage.
WC, were you using the stock diff grease or diff oil on your diffs???
