Question: How do we select a bodyshell? Based on look i go for the P909

But there are like 2 seat 1 missing driver cover some Zytec thing.

On a 1/8 does the technicality of a track suggest a particular bodyshell or is a suit this chassis kind of thing?? A growing number are buying the 909 for the looks and style.

Enlighten please

Every shell has their characteristics. Sometimes its a tuning aid and sometimes it may not suit the track layout.

The P909 is the flavor of the month so i heard, perhaps its has good downforce and still steers good. BUT, IFMAR might be banning it for 2011 Worlds...

Default Engine Break-in

Hi,

Have been reading up on enging break-in... from what I have read, there are basically 2 Schools...

1) Let engine idle on box for 1st tank. For the next 5 tanks, run at rich setting. Subsequent tanks, gradually lean high speed.

2) Run engine at slightly rich setting, stopping every 2-3 mins. Let it cool, then repeat again till about 15 mins. Then increase to about 3-4 mins for about the next 15 mins. Start to lean high speed thereafter.

Was wondering what you guys are doing to break-in your engines.

I guess... if I understand it correctly... what we basically want is to heat cycle the engine parts...

Please do share... thanking all in advance...

Sam

Talk cock go TTC thread lah. hahahaha... People here asking for real advise leh... poor thing u go and ask ppl blow engine and buy new one.

Sammies, there is alot of threads in the onroad forum on how to break in a engine, there is no perfect or 100% correct way. Ultimately yes, you would wan to heat cycle the engine.

I'm not a guru at all!

Sammies, if you really wan to learn or need help running in a engine, go down to PA track on wkends and look for a "bear". Friendly, helpful and expert at tuning engines.

Thanks X4 for the tip.

Yup... want to learn... so far... the 2 engines I have were broken in by a friend... but want to learn so that I can do it on my own.

Going to rebuild my OS soon... so thought it would be a good opportunity for me to get 1st hand experience

Will look out for 'bear' at PA. I'm usually down on the weekends as well.

Hope to see you guys around... probably have passed each other at PA... I will be sure to say hi next time round
