HPI Drift Challenge 2010 (Round 5of8) @ KOVAN HUB (25-July-2010 Sunday)
Dear All Friends/Drifters,
HPI Drift Challenge 2010 rules are as follows:-
=============================
a. (Chassis) Open to any leading brands 1/10th scale EP on road car chassis.
b. (Batteries) Any batteries NOT more than 7.4v, NiCd/NiMH/Lipo/LiFePo.
c. (Weight) Minimum 1500g.
d. (Body shell) Close to any HPI/HB body shells.
e. (Wing) No Limits.
f. (Tires) Close to HPI T-Drift Tires (Item number - #4406).
g. (Motor) Limit up to HPI 15T / Nosram brushless 7.5T / Speed Passion brushless 7.5T
h. (Entry fees) : $20 (Include one set of HPI T-Drift Tires).
** Loyalty reward: All HPI/HB car racers will get a $10 product voucher in each races.

2. Trophies for Group B - Top 5
3. Prize for Bodyshell Decor contest - HPI Body Shell

We will take 5 best out of the 8 results, which the last challenge is compulsory.
Note: In case of any race cancellation due to whatever reasons, we will take the best 4of7, or 4of6, or 3of5, or 2of4 or 2of3, or 1of2 or 1of1 best results.

Control Practice
Doing control practice is to ensure fairness for all drifters as all of you will have the same amount of time on a new setup track.
. Each drifter will have the same amount of time for control practice
. Do Not Enter the track for practicing if you are not being told by the judge/organizer
. Remove your car ASAP when your control practice is over
. Drifters will be Disqualified if found Doing control practice on your own or on someone else time slot.
Qualifying
Individual runs
• Best 1 of 2 runs. These points will be used for ranking. If there is a tie, the 3rd lap will be taken into account.
• Points will only be awarded when participant start to drift a few car length before and into the marked areas only.
o 10pts for closest marked apex
o 5pts for 2nd closest marked apex
o 2pts for drifting through the apex, but not in the marked areas
• Points for that particular apex will not be awarded if:
o No obvious drift action can be seen
o Late handbrake-style of entry into apex
o Drift was affected due to impact/contact with track markers
• Points for angle/smoothness/accidents will be observed and added onto the points of that run.
Twin battle
• There will be a practice lap if time permits.
• 1 session consists of 2 runs. The higher ranked qualifier will be the leader for the first run, and there will be a swap of position for the second run.
• Judged on smoothness and consistency, flow and angle, and distance
o Judges will deduct respective points throughout the run. At the end of each run, judges will compare the points and announce who has won that particular run.
o In the case where player A won the first run and tie for the second, player A will win that match.
• A tie situation will be issued if player A won the first run and lost the second, or tie for both runs.
o Another session will be required if there is a tie. If it is still a tie after 2 sessions, a sudden death consisting of a single run will be made with the higher qualifier as the leader.
.Participants will run continuously for three rounds until an accident that affects the drift is made by either participant. The participant that first makes the accident in this sudden death will lose.
.If a there is a tie again ,participant will need to switch from leader to chaser and run another continuous three round. If there is no winner after that ,participant will have to run opposite direction for another continuous three round. (Judges decision will be final)
. For top 4 or if time permits, there will be more than 2 sessions before sudden death to ensure a better justified result.
o In the event of sudden death, participant that tour will be given 1 warning and subsequent touring action will result in a loss.
• During a run, marshals are NOT allowed to recover a car that is stuck. They can recover a car after a run (After the other car finishes). In this situation, the car that is stuck and cannot recover by itself will automatically lose that run. If both cars get stuck and cannot recover by themselves, it will be a tie situation.
• If the car crosses the divider to the other side or gets stuck, he loses that run immediately.
• In the case where the leader crashes and the chaser crashes into the leader, there will be no points deducted from the chaser. Points will be deducted from the leader only.
.Setting your car must be done before the race start. Once your car is in the starting line any resetting of your car will automatically disqualified your round.
Distance (Seen by 3rd judge):
• points will be added to leader if leader manage to pull away.
• points will be added to chaser if chaser can keep up.
