Yes. I use LiFe batteries (A123 as well as kawada brands) in my TB03. Generally they work just fine, but to be safe, I added a capacitor to power my esc, "just in case" Obviously, have to be aware that you'll be having only 6.6v.

No need, there are (many) lifepo4 batteries that are shaped like standard 6cell stick packs, so they'll fit right in.

I saw them in a japanese RC mag. Ordered them thru www.super-rc.com. They're not listed on the english website, but you can email them to ask. Alternatively, try some of the other brands (eg intellect). Can buy those thru ebay or LHS.

Thanks for the info....I have seen intellect LIFE but can't find any report from people using them. There is also Reedy LIFE: http://67.199.85.166/main/productdetails.php?text=723

I use A123 cells and I think these are as good as LIFE can get with exception to the form/size that is difficult to work with for some RC applications. They fit my touring car, but did not use them there yet as the TC season is over. I was able to modify Associated T4 to fit these packs and the performance with mod motor is excellent.
