WRC in Singapore any buggy owners interested???

Seen this?

A conversion of a buggy into a rally style car.

Set me thinking what would be the interest in running a Rally car series at the nice ECP track?

To keep cost down the class could limtited to a rallycar body with WRC or Rally links, buggy or rally tries etc. Cheap as possible to start it off.

A couple of jumps like those made for Woodlands, a few sections of fake grass accross the track at bends etc would make it pretty interesting. Best of all it would give any buggy owners a start to having a race series on a permanent track in Singapore.

No environmental problems to worry about.

OK I know it is not dirt but it could be fun if enough are involved. I have seen the ECP track a few times but never whilst it is being used so guess that there may be plenty of time to fit in a Rally series.

I think the extra membership would help out as well.

Anyone have any info let me know as it would be fun.

Had a look around and it looks like plenty of 1/8 WRC bodies are available.

????????????????????????

i converted mine a year back... ran it using the "mclaren" shell (looks like paris dakar :P )... too bad the ride height is a bit limited... cos my frens and i made a sand ramp... rather than jumpin over it, it juz dig thru it but it was sure fun....at least the car had its purpose

hmm... mayb can dremel the chassis to allow more ride height... mmm now where did i keep my car

OK so i will have to see if any other buggy owners are interested.

Then find out who runs the track and get details and permission.

????????????????????????

How many do we need to make a good race on that track?

Yep it looks like fun.

I recon a nice jump and some Astro turf would also make for a good Rally surface.

It would also get more classes of cars out at the ECP track and help the buggy owners in Singaproe have a nice place to run.

Looks like not much interest at the moment.

Never mind....................

hi a-maxx,

i support your idea on the rally car thing.
anyway, converting a buggy into a rally car shld be easy, kyosho has already done tt with the landmax based on the 7.5

i'll try to convert my 7.5 into rally car if toykar has the necessary parts.
think i'll be needing arms, shocks, tires n wheels and a body right?

juz FYI, the PA track is crowded wif 1/8 on-road cars on weekends, so no rallying thr...

Default 1/8 WRC

Howdy Maxx

1/8 scale WRC has always been my favourite class. But sadly
they r hardly seen around, especially off-roading where they r
most beautiful.

Please give me a shout if u hv gathered enough guys 2 do that.
I'll hv my video cam ready. Meanwhile, i'm contemplating ur
suggestion.
