Yes it is due to the fact that the inserts that we have to use need plenty of air gap for maximal traction throughout the race. Moreover tyres such as Sorex 36R and 40R is only good for 2 full runs in which the 2nd run will not be as grippy as the first. So each time you install a new set of tyres make sure that you have a good clean run so that you don't have to waste that set of tyres. Anyway, since it is international race then like what Alvin will say .... Let's go all out man...... Come all the way from Singapore must go there and give a good fight. Anyway, the Thais are really fighters and they will make your money worth. They got skill man. Anyway, you just have to come and experience it on your own. The thrill is there......

Hey Windtalkers,
These are some guidelines on how much you have to spend if you were to race in Thailand:
1. Tyres about $300 - $400
2. Hotel $150 each person ( for 1 room at a 4 star hotel for about 6 days. One day about $50 )
3. Food $100 - $150 ( for 6 days )
4. Transport $150 ( taxi is about $12 to track and from the hotel. toll inclusive )
5. Air fare $310 by Thai Airways
The only thing that you can save will be tyre inserts as you can reuse them when you slice open the tyres.Thats about it. You still have about 8 months to go to prepare. Still a long way to save the dough.
