Good things no cheap, cheap things no good.

Good :- SLS BEARINGS

Cheap :- YEW KEE BEARING

Rubber seal wheel bearing 8 X 16 X 5 (16802RS) fm MUGEN :- PACIFIC MODELS (much cheaper than fm bearing shop but in min. qty of 10 pcs/pkt, surprising rite ?!)

Look in the Yellow Pages n u can find many more bearing shops.

Thanks KK

So what brand of bearing are good? Yew Kee is selling Natec bearing. Not sure what brand is SLS selling. The question is what brand are you guys using? Or brand is not a concern? But do not think bearing from China are good, right?

Furthermore, is metal or rubber sealed bearing better for Buggy?

Thanks.

Personally I like NMB (Nippon Miniture bearings) Ball Bearings.

Personal perference when chosing bearing
For EP Touring - metal shield, stainless steel, abec 3 - 5.

Stainless steel is softer then chrome steel (bearing steel) but wouldn't rust so easily or quickly.

I like Squat bearings - using NMB Bearing. (stainless steel) And they have different grades in the form of "RD, Racing Dry", "VC, Vibration Contol" and "Gold Bearings".

RD are degreased, VC shd be higher abec rating ones.

Their gold bearings are titanium nitride coated I guess. And commonly used in High End Fishing Reel.

GP any rubber seal bearing also can........hehehehe

China bearings can be quite good also. Nowadays more and more china bearings makers are making bearings of abec or iso standard.

One thing I know for sure. RC car should only used up to abec 5 rating bearings. Although higher rating = better tolerances = spin smoother = less vibration = last longer. If you go to some bearing maker's site. They themselve stated it too. "It's a general misconception that using the highest the rating bearing give the best performance."

abec 7 and higher bearings should only be used in application where vibration is a issue. (Maybe can be used in electric motors) Cos due to the tight tolerance, when dust or small particles enter the bearings, the balls will not be able to roll smoothly/freely.

Here's a online shop that sell rather cheap and good ball bearings, hybrid ceramic ball bearings, ceramic balls etc....but no stainless steel ones..... http://stores.ebay.com/WalawalaStore

It's a shop in macua, most likely the bearings are from china.
Used to sell bearings at their online shop but stopped. Now only available at their ebay shop.

Have also tried Powers and Xenon ones. But both brands are also not using stainless steel ones......

Thank you for the information, very profound. So where are you buying your bearing may I ask?

Also, what about bearing maintenance and care? How long you use you bearing and what are the maintenance you perform on your bearing?

Dear all, I need to know where you buy your bearing?

Thank you.
