Default Sydney Model Autosports Inc [smaracing.org]

The Sydney metro area has a new home for 1/10th scale motor racing.

Sunday the 29th of August, Sydney Model Autosports Inc tested the all-new Generation II Road Rail track system at the Jets sports Club Tempe.

Sydney Model Autosports Inc (SMA) will run every 2nd Tuesday Night (http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=77016) and Sunday, aimed at both amateur Electric and Nitro drivers, wanting to learn the craft of model motor racing in a fun and friendly environment.

With 100% support from the Jets Sports Club, a fantastic venue with Power, fully enclosed Track area, Bistro, Bar (For Kids over 18yrs), Fox Sport and entertainment for the Mums and Dads.

Walking distance from Wolli Creek Railway Station, just off the Princes Highway, there is plenty of parking; the club is less than two minutes from the M5 Princes Highway exit.

So, for all the novice R/C racers looking for a local track in the Sydney metro area, drop into your LHS or keep an eye out for our new website in the next week or so, www.smaracing.org for more info.

cool this place is only 10 minutes from my place!

if i go down there to race on a club day would i be excluded from racing? are beginners banned from racing at the track once they win a championship, or say, 10 races in a row?

how do you define beginner/novice? and when does a novice become a experienced racer?

ALL SERIOUS QUESTIONS.

You would not be excluded from racing VWO. The club is just trying to ecourage a new generation of racers and cater for existing racers.

Please come down next meeting and have a go on track, i think you will enjoy it.

Start at around 10am, finishing up by 3.30pm.

At some point we will also have some running on Tuesday nights (when we have daylight savings in action).

Damn.... big call!
Mikey Robbins IS an ugly suburb.

Was too lazy to go to Meca on the weekend, so went to pop by and help out. This place is in a word...."Brilliant!" (in guiness fashion)
Great facility, all fenced in. Bar and bistro is a cool plus. And the new road rail system is really good. Sure beats the poor Nthside 3hr set up system. Looks just as good too.

I strongly suggest all electric racers come by for the next meet. Check out the facility and help encourage more newbs to start racing.

Two thumbs up.

VWO: prp design is starting to look like a tub chassis. I will even things next meet so make sure no excuses like not have the proper tires, can't drive electric, etc.
