Hyper booster
Any one tested the booster?

I don't know what it is...could you give us more info?

Hyper booster is a new device made by KO propo. It's a small device that you install instead of the Shottky diode on the motor and with this small gizmo you can get up to 20% increase of power with no current increase!
I have see it on the Numberg hobby fair in Germany and in the stand you could see a rig with booster and so installed. When switching to booster you could read the RPM increase on a disply.
So what I wonder is if any one have tested it with other speedos than KO and can give a small track report.

Woah! That seems cool if it works like it's supposed to!

you can probably get information on it on the ko website.

whaooo that sounds sweet what's the cost of one?

I have the booster and I have even got all the text on the Japanese KO site translated, but as expected they say that it's only working with KO speedos.
Price in Japan is 5000yen and SRP in Sweden is about 65Euro.
I have not had time to do any track tests, that's why I ask. But I will try it on tuesday... I'll post a small report after that!

You can't create energy, only change its state. Increasing power through isnt possible without increasing current. If it were they could get rich solving the worlds energy problems instead of just marketing it to RC racers.

That was our first thought as well! But fact is that the RPM increased and current was stable at the fair. I can't imagine that a big RC brand like KO would risk it's name and reputation if it was not working.
What we think is the magic in this small bug is that the Speedos work with PWM control and that it takes advantage of overtunes and maks DC of the pulses.
I will go to the track and test it tomorrow.

But then again, when a speedo is at full throttle there is no PWM. How is the KO speedo supposed to be different from the others?

Good question!
Personally I don't think the KO ones work any different than other speedos. Even if it does not work... I think it's too big thing to let pass. If it works it will make a small revolution to the electric cars.

Does anyone have any idea of what it is. Any guesses and theories are welcome.

I'm no electrical engineer, but I can't understand how it would work. You can't make energy from nothing. And the only way to make the motors RPM's go up, is to supply more energy than the batts are supplying. I'm sure it is some device that "stores" energy, but how it increases RPM's is beyond my mental capabilities. LOL
