Make sure you have a glowing plug, put four or five drops of fuel directly into the carb and make sure you have an air gap. If the engine starts this way but flames out quickly you have a fuel blockage. This may be as simple as oil gumming up the passages or a foriegn object such as dirt or pieces of "O" ring.

Default Engine starting problems

REMOVE the glow plug and check to see if the element glows when connected to the igniter. If not replace it.
If the engine sat for months without being run out of fuel. The small fuel passages inside of the carb could be gummed up.

ALWAYS run/drain your tank dry AND put after run oil in the engine. Especially if it's going to sit for more that a few days.

make sure your glow plug battery is fully charged. This has always been oversighted for most of the engine cannot start up problem.
