you can't go wrong with a Monster or Binary based motor - i mainly run all monster (blueish green can)

i use a Putnam Monster based stocker. this thing is awsome. i use it in a tc3. great for carpet. low end torque to get out of the hole and high tip end speed. go w/ a putnam, you wont regret it

EA Motorsports, monster based motor is all I run. Great outstanding motor to run. Excellent performance. If you want to change the brushes go with the Reedy 767. But go with the EA monster based motor.
Good luck in finding a motor.

Trinity has a new stock motor coming out and from what I hear it is REALLY good. They should be hitting the stores any day now.

If it is a larger track then go with the Roar Epic stock...they are faster on carpet. If its a tighter track then go with the Monster.

For carpet with a Roar Epic gear it around a .95 Roll out to start. Start with a 1.0 rollout on a Monster.

The new CO27 is going to be an awesome motor from what I have seen...but they wont be out for about another 2-3 weeks.
