Like many many people have said. The trick to diffs is grease. Use a waterproof marine grease or like some people have started using is mobile one synthetic grease. Grease the o-rings, conical gear shims, out drive shafts, and gaskets liberally with grease. Grease grease grease.... Don't wipe if off either... it makes a mechanical seal. No need for after market o-rings.

The only thing I could never get to stop leaking by using grease was Losi shocks. I did all sorts of things. New seals, different material seals, different grease, more grease, less grease, no grease, .. I just think Losi is cursed for leaky shocks. They look great too! I don't understand why I couldn't get them to stop. I even used the v-style o-rings with double contacts. Still leaked...

When I ran my Jammin FTE I used Kyosho diff gears only!
Jammin gears arent reliable..

Just traded a Losi 8 for the 5R... I am stoked..
I sold my 5T with less then a gallon on it and am kicking myself..
I have read all the good info in this thread and hope I can contribute
as I get some time with the car..

No reliability issues at all. I know guys that have ran two gaskets for over 10 gallons and the diffs are fine. Didn't have to go up in oil weight either.

I want to know why we dont have the new RMV progressive spring for the mbx5r with the long shocks. I know the mbx5t's are the same but you only get 4 rear springs..... I want some for the mbx5r front shocks???
