Is there a significant size difference between these new cells and the old IB? Should I be getting my dremel?

This is so funny, we now have a battery that at my local club will last three rounds of heat!! (enforced 540 mabuci motors in the winter) can't wait to try these baby's with a nice long straight and a mod geared right up!!!!

Which I was thinking. Would these new IB4200's hold up to (2) 5 minute heats in stock charged at 5.0A?

Danny, should we expect GP to follow the same route as IB have?

i really doubt it. my 3300s are dumping at the last 2 minutes of 8 min. in order to run two 5 mins. it better be at least 6600s mah. maybe you can get away with it but would you risk it?

I think they would come up a bit short plus the second heat would be slower due to the pack not having as much charge in it and being cool.

Not sure what GP will do it seems that they are now saying that they have caught to the IB3800s.

So what are they gonna do now that they have to catch up to the IB4200's?

Here is some info on the IB4200s. We sent out a sample pack last week for track testing. So far it's holding up as well as the IB3800s. The laptimes turned with this pack are indentical to the lap times turned with the 3800s except that you have an extra 30 seconds of runtime. So it seems that this cell will only benefit the racer who needs all the runtime he can get.

I also got some info on the new GP3700s. The runtime is still like the original 3700s(430-450) but the voltage has been increased to 1.19-1.21 with the majority of the cells being 1.20s all these numbers are 30 amp numbers. Looks like they didn't catch up to the IB3800s afterall.

I think its all in the color of the shrink wrap..............If GP used blue colored shrink wrap on their cells, they would increase voltage and runtime and lower IR............

Our first batch of production IB4200s are being matched up this week. The cells range 425-445 with the majority of the cells being in the 430 range. The voltage is 1.19-1.20 with the IR being 1.7-2.0

So correct me if I'm wrong or not but the majority of the 4200 cells are comparable to the super high 3800 cells? Those 3800 being the somewhat "freak" cells that there are only a few of.

Yes it's like having a bunch of the top runtime IB3800 cells. Track performance seems to be the same as the IB3800.
