Is this true? I heard Xray gave Timmy Heiser a T2 to race in the last qualifier. He is no longer rolling with the FK04.

What's up Pat...when you coming out again?

Not sure about that T2 thing...I'd be surprised if Timmy switched midrace.

The factory 19 turn guys are almost as quick as the mod guys. What are most of them using for a motor?? Just curious to know what 19 turns are the fastest right now.
Thanks

tandmand- Remember that on the national level (Vegas, Cleveland, Novak, Snowbirds, Roar Carpet Nats) plus semi-big races where a lot of Factory Guys show up like the Halloween Classic, January Jam, etc. the numbers typically look like this:

Open Modified is-
.9 - 1 sec/ lap faster than Stock
.4-.5 sec/lap faster than 19t

Blackstock's 3rd round average was .43 sec./lap faster than Dumas 19t Factory Foam and 1.09 sec/lap faster than Dayger's average. These are pretty typical.

What often goes unnoticed is just how much faster that REALLY is (if one is consistent per lap, notice these are the averages per lap).

A .4 -.5 sec/lap difference will typically equal about 1 lap in 5 minute racing. This equates to 2 - 2.5 laps in 8 minute racing (a standard 12th scale race).

One lap is a lot when the difference in making the "A" can be measured anywhere from 1/4 - 3/4 of a lap and guys are used to being within a few seconds of each other.

So they aren't really running anything different motor wise than what others run. It's just that everything works at the optimum (Driving, Car, Tires, Motors, Batteries, Electronics, etc.). It ALL counts at that level, it's NOT just Driving or Motor or Tires or Whatever, it ALL counts and it ALL has to be right....and those guys get it right nearly all of the time....

With all of that said I have been hearing very good things about the Integy Atlas 19t and the Reedy Quad Magnet is pretty common along with the Trinity C2. A lot of people seem to also be waiting on the new Checkpoint 19t. I don't race stock or 19t so I can't tell you from personal experience, just from what others are saying/writing.

rangulo - No, you would not want the Novak race to be in the summer. Trackside is not air conditioned, and can be horrible in the summer heat. Besides, it is funny to see all the California people freak when it snows.

Go to www.liverc.com quick. The A-2 mains begin in a few minutes. Coverage will probably go to about 4:00 PM (PST).
