Yep the 05 aluminum bodies work well. I dont recall the part number either... and i bought them...LOL The only problem i had was getting enough rear droop with small foams (55.2). I dont know if the stock plastic shocks are like that too, i hadnt run small foams with the plastic bodies on the car. Unscrewing the eyelet would solve the issue... but if i understand correctly, the 05 shafts are longer than the T2 shafts, so maybe a set of them in the rear with T2 ends would be the ticket. Either way my T2 was flat hooked this weekend. It ran like a scalded cat...

just 2 quick question; will the front inner susp. pivot pin fit the rear? (busy ordering my T2 and parts WOOHOO )

Also will one bottle of Xray 30WT shock oil be enough for all 4 shocks?

You probably dont want to run the older T1 shocks on the T2, the piston sits completely different in the shock body and it really does affect handeling. There is nothing wrong with the stock plastic shock bodies.

The 05 alu shock body is no longer available...
The new serpent shocks has an entirely new design so it won't fit

I know the 30wt oil definately has enough for all 4 and then it has about 2/3 of a bottle after that left.

Xray oils seem to run heavier than everyone elses. 30wt Xray is closer to 45 - 60wt of other manufacturers. Most of the team drivers on xrays site use 30wt and then open and close holes in the pistons to get the desired damping. I have seen a few 35wt and 25wt setups but not too many.

BTW, anyone know who carries 25 and 35wt Xray oil?

What servo does everyone use in their T2?

Im thinking of getting the Futaba 9550 because of its low profile design, but at only 86oz of torque, im abit worried that this may be underpowered.

I use the 9550 and its great. This is a sedan and 86oz torque is quite a bit.

It is true, there is nothing wrong with the plastic shock bodies. As far as a difference in handling between... piston position and where it sits in the shock body... or plastic to teflon coated shock bodies, IMHO the teflon shock body is more noticeable, and as a positive, not a negative. The weight difference is negligible.

Its funny how people can debate aluminum shock bodies as a positive or a negative, but have no issue anodizing the car in Alien Green or adding aftermarket chassis to an already great car. Maybe people just like aluminum shock bodies?!

I use the aluminum ones on my 05.Never liked the plastic ones because they leak.(making the shock inconsistant)
I know someone will come on here and say that they run the plastic bodies and never had a problem with leakage...whatever...

fine. Bottom line, the aluminum ones are stronger. We club racers like strong parts that don't leak. As a company why would they tell their customers what they want?

I have never had problem with the shocks leaking. If they are leaking it is most likely due to a bad o-ring not the shock body. Although I will say that having a fresh mold for the new shock bodies probably is better than the shock body that was coming out of the old mold for the 05...
