What is grey market stuff?

If you mean stuff that didn't go through the designated distribution channels, then what's the problem with it?

Grey market is products that don't go through normal distribution. For instance there is a distributor for Novarossi in the USA. The engines that toro sells do not go through that distributor. Those engines have no warranty here. What is wrong with that stuff is it takes money away from the people that have gone to the trouble of setting up distribution and service here. I believe most of his stuff comes from Hong Kong, but I am not sure of that. It isn't a real big deal, but I would rather get my stuff from authorized dealers.

I am almost positive that it is a grey market engine.

Chances are you will not have any problems with your engine or rc-toro so I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you are concerned ask toro man. He told me the truth about a Novarossi engine. He fully admitted he got it overseas.
i sure will....thanks...

eveytime i heard of a motor go bad ,it never the motor s fault it the way you ran it. it never the manufactor s falt. you must have got to hot. a novarossi is a novarossi doesn't matter where it came from.

sometimes they have bad bearings... sometimes I have seen leaky carbs. It is usually operator error, but not always. If you think there are no warranty repairs ever done on an engine, try contacting great planes, or fusion. You are in for a big surprise. I am not trying to scare anybody. If I was really worried about the quality of a product, then I wouldn't buy that product from anybody. Bottom line is I like to support the companies that are here and ready to support me. That is why I don't support grey market dealers and hong kong shops.

I just ordered an 05 Evolva from rc-toro. Even tho the packaging of the one they sent to me is different from the USA version, I have confirmed from various source it is 05 Evolva not 03. Toro_man/Jean has been honest about it, and they are quick to respond. I would say that so far I am happy with the product and their service.
